Separate issue.Just once I'd like a team that is capable of bullying the other team rather than having one of our players be bullied due to "the code."
I want our players to be able to say whatever the f*** they want without reprisal. Remember when Kucherov made fun of us and all we could do about it was whine because our team is always a bunch of wussy wuss-faces?
While i do think consistency is an issue with Monty, this was his 3 game in 4 nights and with travel.Guess getting a 4th win in a row was just too hard for them. This is why I am not a fan of Montembeault, he is just not consistent enough to be a #1 to rely on. Nice to see Hutson within 1 point of rookie scoring lead.
Habs fans took Carey Price era for granted, and that’s become the recency bias benchmark for Habs GGuess getting a 4th win in a row was just too hard for them. Even Carey Price had blunter, no goaltender is perfect. Since mid november (around 15 games) he is #7 for NHL goalies in Sv%. Samuel is playing like a #1 pretty consistently lately.Guess getting a 4th win in a row was just too hard for them. Monty with the 844 sv%We should have won that one, Dach and Caufield could have put it away but failed.
Monty didn't give us a save when we needed it. He's burned out and needs a rest.
Matheson was his usual self.
Hutson continues to impress. He blows my mind. How good will he be at 23-25 years old?
It was a good stretch of games with some tough opponents on the horizon.
The GDT was legendary which made my night, cheers all.
Yeah, he needs some help but I think that a second line center is the most pressing need, Dach isn't that but they may just leave things as they are for this season and deal with it in the summer.Monty with the 844 sv%
He can't handle 4-5-6 games in a tight timeline.......................we need something to happen after the break to get us a backup who can help Monty carry the load.
I don’t understand this new era of goaltending. Goalies used to be pissed off when you didn’t play them close to every night. Sure, from an analytic stand point it may be better to lighten their work load but starting 5+ games shouldn’t “burn out” a goalie mentally. We should have won that one, Dach and Caufield could have put it away but failed.

Monty wasn't burned out mentally, he had no legs playing 3 games in 4 days (and starting 10 games in a row).I don’t understand this new era of goaltending. I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize he was already up to 10 consecutive starts. LolMonty wasn't burned out mentally, he had no legs playing 3 games in 4 days (and starting 10 games in a row).

It's even worst once you look at Primeau's playing, he played more games (including coming in in relief) in October, then in the next two months together. The coaching staff has been playing with fire there.I’ll be honest, I didn’t realize he was already up to 10 consecutive starts. Lol
Marty isn't subtle when he dislikes a player.Yeah 10 straight starts is high in this era. And it would have been high in the 90s too.
They were testing their luck playing him 10 straight (and 3 in 4 with all travel).
It's pretty telling what they think of primeau.
Am i the only one who doesnt understand the Matheson and Hutson pairing?
I cant be the only one lol
Monty doesn't seem to be able to handle the load..........others maybe, but history tells us Monty hasn't been able to show he can.I don’t understand this new era of goaltending. Matheson has been a mess recently...................he should not be paired with Hutson, he would be better with another guy. Matheson and Hutson are pretty much the same guys, puck moving Dmen who would in this case for Matheson be better away from Hutson, since there is only one puck.Because they want Hutson to play big minutes and Matheson is basically the only option with what is currently on our roster.
Ideally Savard would've been Hutson's partner giving him a reliable steady guy to play with, however he's shown he can't be effective when playing more than 17-18 minutes a game.

I think Hughes loves some of his Quartexx players too much.
Can we reverse time and re-sign Monahan last summer?
