Post-Game Talk: Habs lose third straight game. Jets run Habs out of Bell Centre.

We can agree to disagree. I suggest skating the Red River, heading out to Assinaboine park, walk the forks or head to falcon lake.
I have been to Montreal great city but St. Catherine's is dirty and full of suspect inhabitants.
I've been everywhere in Winnipeg. Summers are nice and so is the park but that's it. It's not the city and it's only usable in the summer. Winters are so gross.

I don't live in Montreal

If Matheson is still here in 2 years time we 1-won't be contenders 2-have lesser faith in the present management.

People should stop falling in love with mediocre players.
I would not call Matheson Mediocre as a whole. He's a good 2nd pairing offensive dman. He's mediocre defensively though for sure which makes him a terrible fit for this team imo.

If they are still in the fight at the trade deadline management will need to weigh what they will get against the effect “pulling the rug out” from this core during a legit race will have. Talking specifically about Evans and Armia. I’d listen if the deal was sweet but I’d be weary.
I don’t think Habs will be in picture at deadline. Not with guhle gone

Losing Ghule would be a big loss. However, in the grand scheme of thing, making the playoffs or not this year doesn't really matter. The team and many players have showed that they took a step forward. Playoff experience would be nice, but a higher 1st round pick is great as well. It's a win-win situation now. Demidov is coming next year. We will see a few vets leaving in the summer (e.g., Savard and Dvorak), and we will integrate a few young ones (Demidov, and probably Reinbacher at some point) that are key parts of the rebuild. All is good.

I, for one, will be curious to see Struble back in the lineup on a regular basis. I still think this kid has great potential, but to get there, he needs to play.
The question is. Do they have confidence in beck and kapenin. If so buy Gallagher out this summer. He will start to block development next year.

Habs started off strong, but only managed 1 goal.

Another example that the team needs more skill. Like, more than just Demidov.

Habs will likely try to swing for a sizeable deal, or get some rights to the better free agents to get some extra negotiation time.

Also makes me wonder if the Habs look and heavily consider buying Gallagher out. Not because his cap hit is preventing the Habs from being active, but rather he's holding a spot that could be upgraded on.

Anderson PKs and has done a solid job, while being a big body and another person who can Chuck knuckles, so I can see him being saved.
Good post. I also think Habs may have to consider buying gally out this summer. Beck and kap will need at least good amount of nhl play next year.
