Post-Game Talk: Habs lose third straight game. Jets run Habs out of Bell Centre.

Exactly. It’s year 3 of a rebuild, not year 30. Habs are where they’re supposed to be - in the mix. They are competing, learning, and building. So many drama queens in this fanbase,
And still several plugs to unload. Most are good guys but are just not good enough to be on a contender.

The guy is a f***ing warrior. Don't start with this BS again.
Maybe if we had more forwards Fore f***ing checking Guhle wouldn't have to be in that corner.
See.....you can be a warrior and made of glass. Yeah, the guy jumps on shots. But you won't be able to count on him if he's hurt every year. And seeing how tougher it is in the playoffs, how the heck do you count on him to be there?

Some of you need to learn how to be frustrated in the micro while maintaining optimism in the macro. We are incomplete product that lost to probably the best team in the league. Not every game tips the scale on a rebuilds success.. I can’t believe I have to type this out
Yeah the one thing that could put a damper on this season was always going to be an injury to the wrong player. Heck losing Heineman already took a toll. It may be a blessing in disguise in terms of making the right "Long Term" decisions as we approach the TDL if we lose Guhle for a long time.

Not only that we have tons of talent on the way. Demidov and Reinbacher are likely here next year. Roy would already be here if he didn’t get hurt…

There are a ton of Dmen who miss a ton of games in the NHL. Ironmen on D are GOLD.

I’m optimistic that Hage could be that guy
I love Hage. But we don't know that. And for seeing him play with Michigan all year long, the kid is clearly too much talented for the rest of his linemates....but he takes shifts off. A lot. Though I would suspect that with higher quality and levels, he'll upgrade his game. But for me, we will see in 3 years. 1 year back at Michigan hopefully with a better lineup. 1 year with Laval maybe depending on his camp.

If they are still in the fight at the trade deadline management will need to weigh what they will get against the effect “pulling the rug out” from this core during a legit race will have. Talking specifically about Evans and Armia. I’d listen if the deal was sweet but I’d be weary.

Come again? What’s wrong with Dach on the 2nd? He’s been killing it.
I just personally don’t see Dach as a viable long term solution at C for the 2nd line. He’s not consistent enough and is a liability in his own zone. I think he’d be much better suited on the wing on the 2nd line with a legit #2 C.

Who talks ironman? If he's hurt long term, it means 2 years out of 3 years. And last year, an injury that made him miss 12 games in a row.

Point is this...it's impossible to count on somebody in your top 4 for a winning team if he keeps going out like that. Every year.

The must win games all look like this one tonight. I'm not sure how we can hope to stay relevant.

His development is weird.. he was playing during Covid. Then went ushl instead of major junior. Now he’s kind of big fish small ponding it in college. The kid needs to go pro. Or Maybe Michigan will stack up after this new junior/ncaa thing goes through and he has to battle for time.

If they play themselves out of it it will mean that Evans and Armia probably aren’t fixtures in the line up. The decision will be made for them. The core’s failure to stay in the race will see their buddies shipped out.. a good lesson. Either way I’m good. Just get the Russian on a plane

I'll summarize the faceoffs:

Suzuki 22 - 12 - 10
Dvorak 10 - 9 - 1
Evans 8 - 7 - 1
Each 6 - 3 - 3
Newhook 7 - 2 - 5

Zone shifts starts are also very interesting.

Effectively the second line is doing nothing but trying to take the puck away from the Jets. And I'm willing to bet it's like that in every game.

I'm curious to see what the lines will look like tomorrow. The second line needs to change. It is still playing without the puck.

To compare Laine and Connor. Might not be a bad idea to compare partners and number of games/injuries over the last
two seasons.

It's nice to see us competing regularly and in the mix, compared to the first 2 months of the year where we were a bottom 3 team basically.

I sense we're going in the right direction, but time is needed. We need pieces to come in and give us upgrades over what we have right now. We have lots of pieces in the pipeline, and a couple mid first round picks coming our way this summer. Lots of resources for HuGo to work with.
