Post-Game Talk: Habs lose third straight game. Jets run Habs out of Bell Centre.

I'll summarize the faceoffs:

Suzuki 22 - 12 - 10
Dvorak 10 - 9 - 1
Evans 8 - 7 - 1
Each 6 - 3 - 3
Newhook 7 - 2 - 5

Zone shifts starts are also very interesting.

Effectively the second line is doing nothing but trying to take the puck away from the Jets. And I'm willing to bet it's like that in every game.

I'm curious to see what the lines will look like tomorrow. The second line needs to change. It is still playing without the puck.

To compare Laine and Connor. Might not be a bad idea to compare partners and number of games/injuries over the last
two seasons.
Our second line seems like such a mess at even strength. Dach seems to be the strongest part of that line 5 on 5 at the moment. Newhook and Laine just don't have the 5 on 5 game figured out right now.

Some of you need to learn how to be frustrated in the micro while maintaining optimism in the macro. We are incomplete product that lost to probably the best team in the league. Not every game tips the scale on a rebuilds success.. I can’t believe I have to type this out
I can't believe you think you don't have to. Don't you know this fanbase? The rebuild is over, we are buyers at the deadline this year, Demidov is joining the team when we make it to the 3rd round in June...

Kaiden Guhle with his usual injury time off. It's becoming a casual yearly habit for him.
He has that Injury prone tag now, which I suspected already at the beginning of the season. Can't count on this guy for more than 55 games a year seems like it.

If I was KH/JG I would try to trade him for the highest possible offer asap before he loses value.

Who talks ironman? If he's hurt long term, it means 2 years out of 3 years. And last year, an injury that made him miss 12 games in a row.
I just think his injuries are more fluke related and or POS hits from behind than Guhle is made of
glass. People were speculating his AAV is lower than it would have been if he was an 82 game guy.
Maybe we are just f***ed...:dunno:

Losing Ghule would be a big loss. However, in the grand scheme of thing, making the playoffs or not this year doesn't really matter. The team and many players have showed that they took a step forward. Playoff experience would be nice, but a higher 1st round pick is great as well. It's a win-win situation now. Demidov is coming next year. We will see a few vets leaving in the summer (e.g., Savard and Dvorak), and we will integrate a few young ones (Demidov, and probably Reinbacher at some point) that are key parts of the rebuild. All is good.

I, for one, will be curious to see Struble back in the lineup on a regular basis. I still think this kid has great potential, but to get there, he needs to play.

I was wondering if Dach was even playing when he got sent smashing the (former) stanchion. Newhook is on every puck.

I don't know about other games, but from what I saw, Laine played pretty well today. Although you can see he's not in shape, as a Columbus fan I can compare. But he is a winger, not a center. Dach was beeping the puck, made transition, not him.

Team played hard, Jets just finished their chances and 0.5 seconds left... two bad bounce goals... I like the way the team showed up tho. Hopefully the Guhle injury is minor, he was able to put pressure on it. (edit: well, now there's a reaction video of MSL getting news of the injury and it doesn't look good...)

Im honestly not mad, was at the game tonight and we had chances but couldn’t finish while the Jets were very patient and took advantage of theirs. Reality is we didn’t expect to compete that much this year, last month and a half has been fun and showed us what could be, but it’s all gravy. If we’re out of it in a month it will at least make it easier for us to sell. Next year should be very fun
