I repeat... playoffs are unthinkable with an Allen/Monty tandem.

Matheson/Edmundson is a disaster pairing.

Our first PP unit has decided to not shoot anymore for some reason.

At least Cole scored and I have Tage Thompson in fantasy. Only two consolations about tonight.
i have both Cole and Tage in fantasy. Yeah baby. And December might be brutal for Habs. Top 5 pick still very possible.

With that game now over I'm gonna check out that new Sylvester Stallone series Tulsa King. While I'm watching I'll ask him to please make one more Rambo movie to see if he can locate Armia who still seems to be MIA and needs rescuing but it may already be too late for that.

Can Sylvester still speak or is it a pantomime?

Allen .891% save percentage this season. We need to find goalie. Breaking the back of team. Hope we start Monty tomorrow

Yeah we need to find one for the start of the 2023/24 year. Right now we should just put in a cardboard cutout of Price, enough to stop some shots but lock in the tank baby.

It must be the first time in Habs history that a team exceeding the expectations falls back to earth just when the coach decides to juggle with the roster because veterans are back from injury

It all went to shit when Edmundson came back. I mean maybe not.

But, Harris-Wideman should NEVER be a defense pairing. Geezus, how they ever thought that would be good.

I'd like too see Matheson-Xhekaj, Guhle-Savard and Edmundson-Kovacevic. Harris #7 unfortunately. Wideman #8. And just run with it. That's a big, mobile D. Give Guhle PP time for f***'s sake too. He's our best all round defenseman.

Matheson-Edmundson were awful together. Neither one is that great on their off-side whereas Xhekaj seems ok with it.

I'm ok with that. If Kovacevic holds the 6 spot, I would send Harris down until there is injury or trade.

I'm curious if Kovacevic can develop to replace Savard, at least the Savard of today, not the one of 5 years ago.

Slaf is improving, still needs a lot of reps because his execution is not there yet but some good flashes. High speed passes (that his teammates fumble), a couple of nice board battles won tonight. The stick losing isn't fixed yet...

If MSL decides that a Harris-Wideman pair is a good idea, why can't we try Monahan/Slaf/Anderson for a couple of games

X would be so exposed on the first line.
Guhle has his hands full with too many minutes as it - still learning the systems
Matheson is either a 10 or a 0 he seemed a little asleep and careless passing

Interesting to see how this all plays out, these guys are so young i don't think there would be any issue to send Harris, X or Kovecevic down for a conditioning stint at some point throughout the season keep them humble as well.

Guhle - Savard would be 1st pair, as they were previously.

Matheson - Xhekaj 2nd pairing.

I can't believe the coaching staff came up with that duo, or Math Edmundson. Sometimes they are totally braindead decisions. Webs would have been a great role model if he was healthy, too bad.. kids have to watch Savard instead lol.

Math Eddy should work hypothetically as one is more of a stay-at-home and the other one is inclined to join the rush and pinch often.

The problem is that they both play like headless chickens right now.

I'm ready to give them some time though, mainly Matheson who is new to the team and is coming back from an injury.

I said it in the game thread but ill say it again here.

The the Habs remind me a lot of the current Oilers. The top line carries all the weight and none of the depth guys provide any help and if they do its not enough. Luckily the Habs have some players and prospects coming up that should be able to share that weight and make it impossible for opposition to gameplan around just shutting down the Suzuki line. Unlike the Oilers and the Mcdavid line.
