Post-Game Talk: Habs Lose in Shootout

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
100% sure that when Guhle is ready to return, Arbs will sit. You cannot take Struble out now. Just can't. He is playing great. And St louis will never sit Savard. So suck for him, but Arbs will be the odd man out.
I am not sure I agree, Savard is not playing well enough and you saw how Xhekaj can affect a game when Middleton started going after an injured Anderson...

Xhekaj's play has been solid for well over 2 months, is it a coincidence that with Savard's recent struggles it has made that pairing look bad. Maybe it's not Xhekaj.
Maybe. But Xhekaj was playing with Savard tonight and playing better than I've seen him recently. He was taking the lead on that pair like a young vet himself, is needed with the current version of Savard.

I'm sure Anderson would like his goal and point totals to be better this season but the guy was a wrecking ball out there tonight to start this game and for pretty much this entire season really.

Sometimes fans really need to look past the scoring stats and appreciate everything else a player brings to his team every night. Andy as played some very good hockey for the Habs this season game in and game out.

Anderson is a unique and very valuable player. Many don't understand how much he makes defenses back up and how most of them are banged up when they get to the third period.

Think of Paul Maurice's clip in the playoffs telling his players to "f*** making plays, pound their f***ing D". They didn't win because they made pretty plays. Anderson is the best of them at that.

2 losses in OT from comebacks >>> 2 losses from comebacks in regular time
And this was an L on the calendar anyway, so 0 pts
Basically this is our 2nd Islanders point lol but hey we'll take it

Bigtime proud of the boys either way, getting it to OT was a miracle
Slaf 2 big goals baby
I YELLED for that 2nd one, it was too important lol

As long as we're still in that WC2 spot and battling for that WC1 I'm a happy guy man

A great come back! I would have loved the 2 points but wasn't expecting a point from this game. Remember at the start of the season most of us were hoping to be in the playoff hunt. Well with 13 games to go the Habs are in a playoff spot and have control of their own destiny. It's exciting to watch so sit back and enjoy!

I'll throw Newhook into the same category. I've gotten on Newhook a few times this season for his lack of finish but he's still an effective player out there.

If only though he could just finish just a few more of his what seem like numerous scoring chances every game he'd likely score 25+ goals every season with his speed.

This might be minor but... Habs are terrible at both the OT and the SO. You can't be bad at both man. So many OT points lost from sucking at both. Also... Didn't Habs hire a shooting coach? Missing the net leaders is not a good stat to have..
You add a talent like demidov and your 3 vs 3 changes dramatically . So not worried about that one but going forward

I believe they are 2-2 in the shootout.

It looks bad now because they have lost 4 overtimes in a row, but their record wasn't bad prior to that.

They do need turn that around though. There are likely alot of tight games coming in the pipeline.
