Caufield was closest to the play and managed a few love taps as seen below. Not his fault, it’s not in him to retaliate in kind.

This is looking like the Super Soff team blueprint from Gorton’s NYR days.

@Habs has been right all along — you need to be able to protect your best players. At the end of the day, it remains a sanguine, goon sport.

Our center depth behind Suzuki is Evans, Dvorak and Stephens.

We have 3 black holes down the middle right now. Can't count on the first line every night.

Habs had the same problem when Danault and KK were behind Suzuki and weren't producing.

Biggest need is a 3c that can produce and is insurance incase Dach goes down again next year.

That hit really left a bad taste... For all the talk about how good the room is, they all need to look at themselves in the mirror after that one. It's even worse after recently watching Rossi go at it against the much bigger Guhle...

They should be so freaking embarrassed...
When Caufield is the guy having to go after a player i wonder where the other guys were…

This season is a win in victory, win in defeat!
By winning, players continue to show improvement and experience for the future.
In a loss, one can focus on specific players (like Struble) who continue to learn, and a better draft pick next year.
Habs have been in most games, but are not top tier yet.
In the standings, they are ahead of Ottawa and Buffalo, 1 point behind Detroit. Not shabby for a team that was ranked bottom 5 in the league by many.

it is what it is.
Team needs a lot to go right to win games with limited talent up front. I swear caufield is injured. His play doesn’t make sense. He isn’t shooting and is allergic to contact .. It’s not even a one line team. It’s a two player team that has enough offence from the defence to stay in games.
I’d also like to see Arber back, the lack of response to slaf hit bothered me.
Barron and matheson are an adventure defensively.
And f*** Carolina what a kitschy, choke franchise. They can’t fail fast enough as far as I’m concerned

Maybe this is the catalyst that gets them to bring Arber back up. Silver linings?
