Post-Game Talk: Habs lose 4-1 to Canes

Yeah? Meaning , you standing there defending or rooting for someone like Mike Matheson means you know f***ing better then?
L to the f***in MAO bud

How do you Matheson supporters even look in the mirror ffs?
You're gonna stand there
And tell me Matheson helps this club more than he hurts it..? Seriously??

When he was on PP1 we finish dead last 3 straight f***ing years but when we take him off of it we're fighting for a playoff spot..?

Yeah, thanks for playing, Next
Meanwhile you’re defending:

.875
.844
.892
.840
.880

…because reasons. Okay bud.

In-Da-Mix was fun for a couple of weeks but we can’t beat the bottom feeders in must win games. Hopefully these life lessons Hughes deemed important are worth it in the long run vs selling off.

Memo to Slaf, Hail Mary passes are great when it’s your only option late in the game, try to hit someone on the tape every now and then. And Matheson, you have a severe case of PetryItis, should’ve been dealt this year when value was at an all time high

LOL where did I defend Montembeault in what I was saying
With the 'reasons' you're talking about ..?..??
Montembeault is not the answer.
Dobes is not the answer.

But us people, you know, that actually understand what's actually going on
Already knew that. Bud.

So then why did you quote me? Bud.

You obviously took issue with my post, which was about our starting goaltender’s atrocious play.

Care to explain what your issue was? Bud.

The team looks physically drained, which causes their whole game to fall apart. Late on pucks, losing battles. The opponent moves out of their zone at ease, because the forecheck is just not there. On the other hand, we have to make plays with opposition players on top of us at all times.

I don't think there's much point in getting mad at them. There's just nothing left in the tank.

There's a lesson here for the management and coaching if we want to be competitive next year.

Hutson did some awful plays last night, it is a miracle that there was no more goals. How you can pass twice in a same shift from behind your own goal to opponent?

Yes, he is young and will make mistakes. On the other hand, how come his teammates cant convert his at least 3 premium setup chances per game since game 1 is really what bugs me.

So unlucky for the Habs to be “physically drained” whilst facing teams that are entirely healthy and not tired at all. It’s so unfair!

Same time Arber made one mistake which led to opponent scoring and was benched rest of the game if I watched correctly 😂

Can’t edit my last post… the Habs seem tired but it’s not exhaustion it’s:

Lack of depth in skill positions

Can’t rotate bottom sixers

Don’t have enough youthful energy

Can’t call up AHLers because of their campaign

It’s not a good roster and Hughes purposefully didn’t acquire NHL depth at the deadline because he felt it would be a futile expense

As much as I love Arber, he does not provide premium scoring chances multiple times per game and takes dumb penalties to often for my taste. I don't think you can compare him and Lane. Not even close to being in the same stratosphere lolll

The boys are ending the season like it started...with the same issues showing up again.
I guess we can say the season went full circle.

Lane reminds me of Erik Karlsson, lots of good offence but also quite a lot of blunders when defending. Hopefully he grows up from those.

We are so bad when Suzuki and Hutson arent generating offensively
What you meant is Habs are so bad when Matheson and or Savard are on the ice!

Someone explain to me how Matheson didn't get benched after that bone head play as the last man in the zone to curl back into his corner lose thepuck create a scoring chance for Carolina which leads to a penalty.

On top of that that idiot coach thinks its a good idea to reward him with specials team minutes on that very same PK where MOntreal gets scored on and the rest was history.

But anytime the only guy that can protect anyone or intimidate the other team makes any mistake he gets benched !

Keep Matheson and Savard off the goddamn ice and get a coach who knows WTF he's doing !

Monty’s last 5 starts:

.875 L
.844 L
.892 SOL
.840 OTL
.880 W

In the middle of a playoff push. Montembeault pretty much single-handedly tanked our season.
Goaltending has not been good but I have never seen a hockey team leave so many players unattended in front of their net, or both defensemen simultaneously up at their blue while they leave forwards down low to clear the crease… Team is pathetic in their zone.

It’s not about rewarding players

We’re in the final stretch and fighting for our playoff lives — we’re down a 2C and a top-pairing Dman… you won’t see any big players benched unless they’re actually concussed or out of shape.

I don’t like seeing Savard out there but we don’t have any replacement do we?

Matheson is prob the worst defensive defenseman Montreal has yet he's on the PK. Between the 2 I'd rather see Savard in the lineup but I'd also rather live with rookie mistakes than watching these two clowns.

What is your meaning of big players, big in stature? Because it can't mean big as important cause they both suck donkey's nuts

On the PK you expect strong stick-checkers and mobility, not just stationary "defensive defensemen". I think Matheson is definitely one of our four best defenders for PK purposes. Our roster is rather crappy, don't forget.

As for Big Players, I mean Big for our roster. Matheson is a top player on this roster. If you object to this reality, take it up with ol Kent Hughes.
