We are so talentless that when old-timers like Perry and Kovalchuk (last year) show a glimmer of what made them great in their youth some of our fan base is ready to re-sign them. It really is telling how talent-starved our fan base is.

We really need to get the 1st overall in one of the next 2 years. Or trade for Eichle. The need for an elite talent is overwhelming.

Perry and Kovalchuk are depth players that play for 1M or less. The Leafs have them amd have resigned them too (Spezza, Thornton, Summonds).

Our problem is with the lack of talented guys in their prime, not the supporting cast of vets.

This happens over and over: the 2 D don't make the easy pass to the F while he's in motion. Instead, they pass to each other while standing still. They then make an impossible 2-line pass to a forward standing still. We lose possession.

This can't be real. Every pass is a 2-line pass.
