GDT: Habs @ Leafs - 7pm

McMann is great, he should be on the team next year.
Robertson great game, Holmberg and Steeves as well.
Big Dougie should make it as the 4th C next year.

A line of McMann Douglas Steeves would probably work well next year.

Robertson was named the first star of the game and according to a couple people in here he was terrible lol

I don’t have Clifford or Simmonds making the opening day lineup baring more injuries but I think one of them will be the extra forward if we have cap space.

Pretty impressive performance from Kerfoot and Jarnkrok moving back to D. The good thing with those injuries was it allowed the Leafs a chance to look at them before the season starts. Kerfoot could see spot duty on D if need be judging by his performance.

The goalies (Murray and Samsonov) have come in and so far they have given Leafs fans nothing to complain about.

Malgin does look NHL quality, but I'm not sure it translates to 30+ points over an NHL season.

Robertson was ok, scored a nice goal but had a couple of giveaways and a bad penalty. Not horrible though, not sure first star performance. Lots of Marlies guys looked good. Steeves was pretty good, McMann and Holmberg a few chances and probably saved a goal. Malgin look polished and an option on the 2nd PP as well. Lots to be happy about. Not to mention the shutout. Both Murray and Eric looked good.

Yes strange for Robertson.

As for Clifford VS Simmonds, I prefer both but if we’re choosing at this stage I feel Clifford brings more.

EDIT: in fact I feel the Leafs played best when both suited up

I was wondering if Dubas promised Malgin a trade if he didn't make the Leafs this year? I'm glad he's making a case to stick so far.

He’s got balls even signing, knowing the fanbase and the optics.
It’s almost an impossible situation, but he’s walking right into it and thriving - so far.
Full marks from me.

Looks good so far. I could see him with Nylander and that seems to be the idea.

Lol... sarcasm aside... I have liked Clifford so far. Legit looks ready to battle. A little of that mixed in with a couple of Robertson, Abruzzese, Steeves, Holmberg (if deserving) would be good. Still like Simmonds too. It'll be a tough battle the last 4 games.
 
Not sold on malgin like others are. His current game won't translate against actual NHL competition , especially when teams get into mid season form. Needs to find another gear still.

He's played 192 NHL games already....and he's a better player today. He's an NHL player.

Don't see any big difference from him now compared to when we last tried him. Only difference is he's played against crap right now.

I haven't seen any 2LW worthy play nor a player worth splitting up our duos for yet.

While I agree with it's the preseason and against Ottawa and Montreal, the reaction would have been the same from the other side if they had both struggled.
