Post-Game Talk: Habs good. Habs win.

I think even with Demidov in the lineup, Hutson is the franchise player but hey, let's hope I'm wrong and we have two of them.
Well Hutson is in the NHL and looks like a franchise player so he’s in the pole position. What’s incredible is that Hutson can do everything he does as a defensemen. No other D does so much magic. On the other hand, Demidov can technically do everything that Hutson does and much more. They both think the game at a mastermind level. So we’ll see. :)

scenario: Habs continue to gel as a team, emerging as unlikely contenders against all odds, and start to look like the '86 Habs reborn. then, in the spring, geopolitics intervenes. tariff wars between the US and Canada gets real nasty, culminating in a total breakdown in diplomatic relations. right around May, faced with no other choice because cross-border travel is suspended, the NHL decides to cancel the Stanley Cup playoffs.

whenever the league starts up again, the magic is simply gone and the HuGo Habs return to mediocrity. the life of a Habs fan: we are here to suffer :sarcasm:
Whatever happened just enjoy the moment.

One franchise defenseman, it's Huson. One franchise forward, it's Demidov. Hopefully. Dobes or Fowler can become a franchise goalie. If this happened, the Habs should win multiple Stanley Cup.
Who was the franchise player for the Islanders dynasty? Bossy, Potvin or Billy Smith?

I can't wait to see our little russian baby jesus join this core

Our number one defenseman is a 20-year-old kid that should have went first overall lol. We got two number one picks in one draft.
À number 1 defenceman that we passed over twice (on top of our 1st OA pick).

The old axiom of rather being lucky than good, worked in spades.

Now I'm actually gonna be annoyed and disappointed if we don't make the playoffs. I thought we might be a bubble team coming into the season but now we're cooking
Exactly. The team is rolling, but some players can definitely be upgraded. Dvorak especially comes to mind. Savard as the #7 man would also be great.

Playing some damn good hockey, hope they keep it up.Aside from a few blips hear and there their forecheck, stickcheck, backcheck and winning the board battles are off the charts. They look like they’re carrying weed whackers when they go in and attack the opposing players.:nod:Next up Dallas .View attachment 959357
The Grillo effect is very evident to me we are not the same team anywhere on the ice.
Three and even four touches to exit our zone or lobs when nothing is available. It's more than just Carrier coming on board. These players are aware in all three zones. WTF

I don't think it has anything to do with Grillo. If you listened to MSL over the years, this is exactly what kind of system and team play he's wanted to implement. He's added little by little since he's been here and players are slowly getting NHL experience. You can't blame him for what's wrong then dismiss his impact and shift praise when things are doing well. He's the one reviewing mistakes, team play and making adjustments directly with the players every day.

I was there when they beat Atlanta late in the season before the strike. Cliff Floyd, with a home run. Magical moment. Felipe Alou and MSL, great leaders that players will follow and play for.
On August 12 they were about 40 games over .500 and then the season ended and ruined my summer.
