Tonight was the first time I watched from start to finish in a while, earlier this week I made the decision to stop torturing myself over things I can't control like our draft position or the fact X player I don't like is still on the team, etc.

Team isn't a finished product and another top prospect would have been nice but it they keep winning and make the playoffs so be it. I'll try to sit back and enjoy the games without overthinking it, like I used to a long time ago.

It's a work in progress but I guess the fact I'm not mad after tonight's win is a step in the right direction. I think I even smiled a few times. :sarcasm:

I like the enthusiasm on the board tonight. Let’s remember that this is the second youngest team in the league. Bad games, bad sequences will happen. What they are giving us right now is a glimpse of the start of a bright Habs era. Demidov will add another layer.

This is a snapshot of the excellence we will see all season in a very near future. Enjoy.

Last time I remember experiencing this type of unexpected great run was the 1994 Expos -- for those who followed it then, they just kept winning and winning and it didn't matter who they faced.
The 2013 team was unexpectedly good. Before the season started this year I thought we might wind up having a year like that.

Then we got off to that putrid start.

Excellent point, we're gonna hit a soft patch at some point this season. Hopefully we don't all head to the ledge then

Well deserved win. They all played well.
Agreed. The Canadiens dominated for most of the game. Their transition game was really impressive and if they keep playing like this going forward they will give any team trouble.

This is Montreal. It’s never too early to panic.

Man...too bad we didn't draft Lane's brother. He was dynamite in the WJC. Apparently there's a third brother as well. Is that the D version of Staal brothers? Too bad we missed out on Cole. Washington must be licking their chops seeing what Lane can do and what the potential with his brother is.

Don't think we desperately need a 13th forward either, management just needed to call up Roy/Beck/ABB. Can't wait for Demidov to replace Newhook. The IQ difference will be night and day. Kind of like the two of us although I'm not sure which one of us is at either end.
Newhook is smart, the heck are you smoking, Moves his hands, feet and the puck well, always in a scoring chance.. Relax.

À number 1 defenceman that we passed over twice (on top of our 1st OA pick).

The old axiom of rather being lucky than good, worked in spades.

Except we have video evidence that they projected he would be there, and he was, and they took him.

Tampa took Koekkoek over Vasy. They took Namestnikov over Kucherov.

I guess anything is technically luck whenever someone is picked at any spot other than 1OA. So we could just say every pick ever made outside of 1OA that worked out is luck.

In this particular instance. They made a projection and were right and were able to grab Mesar and Beck as well while still getting Hutson. They should be applauded not reprimanded.
