Post-Game Talk: Habs good. Habs win.

If Suzuki was playing on a first line with some of the players these other elite teams have, he would be well over a PPG player and if he was on an actual playoff team, his stock in the Selke race would rise.

And imagine if he played for the Leafs. Criminy both Marner and Matthews have been finalists for the Selke.

That's like 100 years ago.

Well back then I was more of a Ginger fan. Why no, she wasn't a redhead.

Guy has some serious displaced aggression behaviors going on. He can go kick rocks if that’s how he!s going to treat fellow posters.

Well thanks for caring for the posting community at large but I, despite disagreeing with him on more than one occasion, believe WeThreeKings is in the right here. We've grown so used to being disappointed by the previous management's decisions that we knee jerkedly crap on ones from the new guys.

Some of us are like women who divorced some garbage dude that constantly see ill in our new man. Think about it, the Habs got their guys. Slafkovsky, Mesar(ehh...), Beck and Hutson, but some people are still unhappy because of the order in which they were selected. Me, I'm a guy and like most guys I'm results oriented so the fact that we got the 2 best players from that draft(Cooley's cooling down) means I'm not going to kvetch.

But that's just me.

Right and I think you are understating it. There was a video put out about Grillo and what he brings to the table. I'm astounded that you think he doesn't bring anything new to the table his approach
is completely new/different to this organization. The reason Marty wanted to hire him was because he knew he was not nearly good enough as a head coach in the NHL.
Or, perhaps MSL bringing in further expertise is precisely a sign of his quality as a head coach in the NHL.

Great coaches is any sport have the humility to recognize their own limitations and the confidence to bring in the best coaching/training talent they can find to contribute to what they are trying to achieve. Lots of NHL head coaches don't do that at all.

I'll keep repeating it... What we've been seeing under this leadership is aligned with the absolute best practices in high performance sports. From KH's emphasis on treating players (& everyone in & around he org) with respect and as much personal consideration as possible, to MSLs approach with his young roster & coaching/training staff, we are witnessing a culture of performance excellence building from the ground up, piece by intentional piece in real time.

It's unfamiliar because we haven't seen that here for as long as I've followed the club.

Future is bright 😎

LOL yeah that sure sounds like Marty. :sarcasm:

I highly doubt MSL has ever thought he's in over his head, the hiring of Grillo (his idea) was to help augment/support his ideas and concepts, not the other way round. Grillo seems like an astute hire though, and is helping which only validates that Marty has a good grasp on things.

A good leader knows what he needs and how to delegate. Let's not get this twisted.

It seems to me the twisting is not on my side but rather on the side of those feeling the need to defend one who we all know is an very inexperienced head coach.
That people won't even consider Grillo's impact on Marty as a coach and his methods on our team is humorous.

The hiring of Grillo was his idea, Marty evolving as a by-product of their working relationship is fine. Ofcourse he's evolving and maturing as a inexperienced NHL coach, that goes without saying. If having someone to exchange ideas is beneficial so be it.

Your idea Marty hired him because he knew he was out of his depth is where we are having a disagreement.
