Hughes nothing exciting so far except to say that he believes the team is coming out of the "accumulation of assets" phase and that they might be more likely to keep a player on an expiring contract rather than trade them.
Thanks for the warning Kent, now we know the Trade thread will be extra boring!

Grillo is hired full time and exclusive to the Habs. He will no longer work for USA Hockey. He will not be behind the bench.
That's actually a big loss for USA Hockey.

Montreal, Canada
MSL about Laine, not focused on how many goals, he just wants him to be happy, he wants him to want to come to the rink early, to love playing in Montreal. That is his top priority.

MSL - No big projects this year, one day at a time. He likes the continuity in the team, says it helps them.

He must be referring to Dvorak, Armia and Pezzetta.....They're keepers for sure :sarcasm:

Marty got asked what he's excited about/what to be excited about.

He's excited about continuity/seeing growth, which I guess works, but he took a deep breath and then talked about it.

I think management knows the team isn't good, but are just hoping the players that will be with the team continue to take steps forward, which would be perfect as it's quite evident the team could use another top forward prospect, or two.

Laine is up.

He's getting some laughs as they have to move the mic up for 6'5 Laine after 5'7 MSL talked. 🤣

MSL is taking over the PP fulltime, he wants to do it. He doesn't want to bring in somebody else.

He wanted an older person who is an extension to the current staff. Roger Grillo fills the bill of what he was looking for. He will work with every aspect of the team.

Wonder if Matt Moulson joins the staff in some capacity over next few years, as he’s also coaching his sons MidFairfield team..

MSL looked slightly annoyed to be honest.

In general he doesn't want to talk number of wins or playoffs, he wants to see the group as a group take the next step.

No, MSL has no desire in dealing with Mtl media, which is why he bolts back to CT at every opportunity…. it’s well known down here
