Odd game, dull for the most part. Montreal couldn't get anything going till the third. As much as Ottawa was more dangerous early on, they only scored 3 goals and 2 of them were bad,1 one Sam and 1 because Savard and Xhekaj blew it.

He has been beyond an adequate replacement for Guhle since he went down

He hasn't been *better* than Guhle, but holy hell did we need SOMEthing out of someone there, And Stroobs has stepped up BIGtime
Arber too, I don't care
Adonis Struble making a strong case for a permanent role, a pay rise with a little bit of term and is growing into his game.

He was wearing cut resistant socks. He should have been cut on that play, as Pinto's skate came across his ankle and even dug in a little.

Apparently, it was his first game wearing them. Thank gawd that would have been an awful injury.
That's crazy, he lucked out big time. In the replay you could see what looked like liquid squirting out after the skate blade went across the ankle , thankfully it was just ice water.

I still maintain that 2017 offseason was one of the worst I've seen from a Habs GM and should have gotten him fired. He didn't try hard enough till it was too late to resign Radulov, lost Markov and traded our top prospect (who could have replaced Markov's spot) for a winger who he decided could become our top line centre. To replace Radulov, Markov, Emelin and Beaulieu, he brought him Hemsky, Alzner, Streit and Schlemko. It was nonsensical then and it is worse when you look back at it

And this pathetic offseason effort came just a few months after that glorious trade deadline that brought in King, Ott and Martinsen.

Wait are you f***ing kidding me right now?? Lol

No, he mentioned in an interview it was his first game with them. They're a little thicker than the stretchy normal ones, so a lot of guys don't like them. It affects the feel of the skate.

You still have players who don't wear socks at all.

He got real lucky on that one.

Hopefully this will get any others who aren't wearing them to switch over.

And like surely we have the technology to have a normal sock texture/material around the foot where we don't care about being cut resistant and then somewhere around the ankles and up it switches to the cut resistant stuff.

I remember losing it when he said the defense was better. That's when I knew that he was a legitimate idiot.
