It’s been an issue two nights in a row. Two games that should be easy wins with the late leads and then they don’t know how to defend. Guys aren’t talented enough after Guhle and Matheson.
It definitively was a problem in game 1. Not tonight, though. Tonight, they allowed 2 goals and killed off 7 penalties. If there is a concern, it's the PP, tonight, and last game, and every game before that going back 10 years.

I'm pretty sure you could make such posts about Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid and Matthews back in their rookie years by focusing on a game.

There is no doubt Bedard is NHL ready and there is no doubt he will be one of the best in his generation.

It's easy to pick on Bedard because without him his team wouldn't even be a lock to win the Calder Cup.
I've watched both his games and my assessment remains the same.

Now maybe it'll take him half a season to get into his groove, but right now, I watched both Ovy and Crosby when they entered the league and they were significantly more physically ready than Bédard is right now.

If he can build his frame up to be like Crosby and increase his speed of execution (which he will), then he'll be a heck of a lot better. But I still stand that he's not quite ready for the rigours of the NHL. Year 2 is where I think he'll start to get into his own.

Why do people want wins??? We need some more top 5 picks. People so used to bandaids by the previous regime they don't see this quality rebuild plan in plain sight.
Because are #1 and #5 picks are nothing to be very excited about. And give very little hope that next top 5 will be any better.

Dach injury extra sucks because C is the only position where we don't even have any interesting prospects to call up.

Kinda makes me want another C next draft

The putrid Hawks will be rebuilding for the next 15 years, unless the league keeps gifting them franchise players of course. **** them.

Minnesota next, will be interesting to see how we look against a team that’s not the overrated Leafs or pure shit.

I don't think Hughes is going to get us anywhere. There are so many obvious issues with the team and I don't see any solutions. Starting with coaching. Physicality. Slaf. Special teams (coaching). And no upcoming stars that you can say will turn things around for them.

On the bright side, my chicken wings turned out great. Can believe how much you gotta f***ing pay for wings these days though.
Wtf?! KH has nothing on this team. This is still Bergevin team mostly.

Of course he'll be better in year 2 than year 1. Someone that never watched hockey could tell you that.

He should still be the Calder winner by a definitive margin. He will most likely also be the best player on his team.

I don't know if it made it on TV but Slaf kind of snow showered the goalie and then sprinted to the bench to avoid any sort of blow back. How does a 6"4 unit play so small?
It was the end of his shift and he went to the bench? What does this have to do with "playing small"?

There are many issues with Slaf at this point in time, "playing small" isn't one of them. He's 19 and learning. I don't understand how in 2023 people don't understand that being tall and big doesn't automatically give you a mean streak.

No one wants Allen, and DeSmith didn't want to be here.

You don't think Benson can be a legit challenger?

PP would indicate they need more talent on defence as well. Xhekaj shouldn’t be on an NHL PP. Huston wave 1, Mailloux wave 2
