I am sure Wright was happy as hell to score his first NHL goal against the team that did not take him first overall. All good Slafkovsky got an assist and 8 points so far, out playing and producing Wright to this point.

Glad Pitlick got his 1st of the season, I just know he could be producing more with more ice time but alas that is not likely to happen.

Suzuki pacing for over 90 points is sure playing up to his contract no matter what some of his detractors from other teams fanbases around here like to say.

I mean Wideman only played 8:33, so that's hardly showcasing.

Xhekaj only got 4:50 though.

He & Wideman essentially split the #6 spot, as Canadiens largely went with 5D.

Matheson played 24 minutes.
Guhle 22 minutes
Edmundson 21 minutes
Kovacevic 17.5 minutes
Harris 13:38

Suzuki and Dvorak were the only 2 forwards to go over 20 minutes, 22:47 & 21:04, respectively. Pretty good considering it was back to back.

Slafkovsky played 12:34, and had an assist.
Wright 11:12, with a goal.
Maybe there is something we don't know since we basicaly played everyone we had that was not in the infirmary.

Maybe Xhekaj was not 100%? I agree that 4:50 usage is out of the ordinary, Arber usually gets 13-15 minutes and some 2nd unit PP time.

Yay! Rem Pitlick scored a goal yesterday. Maybe now MSL can leave him alone and think about waiving someone more deserving.

At least Button is knowledgeable and not always being a homer on the habs broadcast and ripping a few players. You can tell Mudryk was snickering

When Pitlick was waived, it was deserved. He wasn't playing well. Things change so maybe Armia gets waived next time.

The deeper we go into the season, the less likely we are 100% healthy so there is bound to be nagging injuries that keeps most of the guys on the roster.

Yeah I dont think we'll have the playing time issue we had earlier in the year moving forward, injuries are kicking in. If anything we'll likely see our Laval depth tested soon with Gallagher, Monahan, Hoffman and Drouin out for a period

Is that a record? fewest shots and a win?

How bad is the Pacific if Seattle is in 2nd, what snoozer. Even my cat looked bored.lol

That’s the least amount of shots the Habs have had in a win since December 7, 2009 when they beat Philadelphia with only 13 shots (which tied the Habs record for least amount of shots in a win).

Missed last night’s game but I wish I heard Button slamming the vets.

Wright scoring his first goal against Montreal… LOL, but fitting. I am genuinely happy for him though. I liked him and was Team Wright up until I had my own What Lady reaction to the Slaf pick. I’m over it and glad we have Slaf, but I really want to see Wright succeed.

Suzuki, CC22 and Dach all collected points, nice. Even Evans and Pitlick got on the scoreboard.

So if the plan is to start contending in about 3-5 years... what's the goalie situation? As far as I can tell thre isn't a solid goalie in the system. Or perhaps Carey will heal up by then...

Tough one to figure out. Dobes looks solid but so did Primeau in the NCAA.

Usually, there are about 5 great goalies or so that can be top 10 in the NHL for 5 years in a row. Will we have one of them again? Not sure. It's very possible we end up with goalies in the 3 year cycles.

Look at Sakic.
* Grubauer comes from the Caps and has great numbers. Wants a 5+ year term and Sakic says goodbye
* Kuemper comes from the Coyotes and wins a cup. Wants a 5+ year term and Sakic says goodbye.
* Trades for Georgiev and signs him for 3 years.

If you don't have a Vasi or Price, DO NOT commit to hopeful goalies more than 3 years. So yeah, search for the next gem in net but if you don't find it, deal with it year/year and wait for the right time to sign or trade for someone.

Armia waived would be half of a scandal. Because 3,5 m is something in between small and big money. If Armia is waived, the medias will be spinning for half a day and soon after it will be forgotten.

I hope Wright will have a nice start of producing goals and passes. The goal he scored was some kind of a gift from the Habs, like hey we're sorry kid. You're a nice guy after all, keep on scoring. Wright on his way to be a regular 45 goals scorer. But Slaf will be a more important core player for us.

Yeah.. I can see that criticizing St Louis isn't very popular around these parts. But I am starting to see things that concern me and bring some bad memories.
I’ve never understood the overrating of St. Louis as a coach. Anyone can make up some lines and tell their players to go play pond hockey which is basically what he does. It’s easy to be a good players coach when the expectations are low and their isn’t as much pressure to win.

I had to watch the Seattle stream instead of RDS and found the boards adds terribly distracting. To the point where I found it hard to focus on the action. I get it but I hope it won't ever get this bad for our local broadcast.

Aslo reminds me of the game in Detroit i believe when all you could hear were dumb shouting fans in the stands for half the 3rd period due to unbalanced sound.

NHL needs a standard for the sound levels too. Game sounds vs commentators is all over the place depending on the feed.

In an interview, he mentioned that he wants to teach them how to play. And that's different than teaching them how to win. A style of play is consistent and stagnant. The way to win is flexible and situational. His top priority is development this year. It's obvious to the average eye that that's his his primary mandate. And it's going pretty well. Next he has to put certain vets in a position to add value to themselves so they can be traded. He's trying and a lot of them are failing. Also it's not really pond hockey, for example yesterday, multiple goals were caused by stupid mistakes or the defence falling down. Can't really blame the coaching staff for that

I painted the game against Vancouver as a W while this one was supposed to be a L
This is why I stopped betting on hockey.....

Having said that. there's only 2 NHLer with more goals at even strenght than Caufield.....and no McDavid isn't even one of them

Well, you just have to do what most Habs fans did for the last 10 years......just blame the goalie instead and pretend the coach is the bestest in the whole NHL.

MSL won't be perfect, will make mistake (He's still a rookie in that role)......but sure as f*** better than anything we had in the last 20 years, Criticizing him is okay but remember the day we will change we might go back of having another Therrien or Ducharme cause you know, there's that criteria that forced terrible hired and as time pass us by, there's less and less of those available.
