Goldenhands...to answer your original question, Sennecke was serving a 3 game suspension and just returned to the team on Saturday.

I can actually see us finishing .500, or very close to it. We probably finish in bottom 9-13 range.
I'd be surprised if this happens. I think our lack of real depth will catch up sooner or later. I predicted around the .500 level fully healthy and that ship has sailed. I'm not ready to change my prognostication just yet. Even if we do have as many RWs as the MIGHTY LEAFS. :D

Slaf is really coming along, he is doing a lot of small things and showing flashes of higher end skills.
Anderson for all the complaining has got lot of chances and has been a lot better this year handling the puck, passing… You could really feel the extra excitement from the crowd on is goal it is fun to see.
Monahan had a great game.
Montembault really made a difference with a few big save.

I remember the 1st time I saw Monty play goal for the Habs and I said...this is not an NHL goalie. Man has he ever worked hard and improved.
Wasn't he christened "Short Side Monty" one game in?
I liked him fairly early on because of his battle. Even then he'd come up with some spectacular saves despite sucking on a few previously.
It also became evident to me that his team liked playing in front of him which is always huge in any hockey league.

with all our whining (mine included), 2nd in man games lost, again, while on the main board habs are shit and none of our players are worth anything - habs are 2 points out of the WC spot with a game in hand and playing .500 1/3 through the season - better than Buffalo and Ottawa ...pretty f***ing nuts if you ask me

Apparently we need to fire MSL and put arguably our best forward in the AHL (or back to Finland).

But even if we do win our tank is lost. So it’s a whine-whine.

Hey, nice win, puts the Habs back to .500 at 11-11-3. Where I think they will hang rest of season. Barring another injury.

Monahan with a couple. Be good for team if he gets hot next month. Increase his trade value.

Montembeault with 31 stops on 33 shots. He's turned into solid starter. I wonder if he plays against Kings?

Suzuki I thought played good game. Slaf played well on his wing. Hope they keep line together so they get use to playing with each other. Dvorak played strong game I thought. He good defensively, strong in faceoff dot Dvorak may actually be movable at deadline. If Habs retain maybe even get nice return. Dvorak at 2.25 million has value. Maybe get first back we gave up?

Good game overall. Closed it out despite letting the kraken back in it. It's important that they close out games like this and stop folding and allowing teams to push OT.

Excellent game for the suzuki line. Dangerous and very well balanced. Monahan is a quality hockey player, and Struble is an NHLer for sure. He kind of reminds me of Romanov in some ways.

Monahan, Pearson and Anderson scoring.

All players past their prime. Rebuild going soooo well.

If Hughes does not get something for at least one of them I will be on the fire Hughes train.
You're not getting much for Pearson, maybe a 3rd

Monahan could fetch a 1st+ but they might wanna extend him if the price and term is right

Anderson will get what the stupidest gm in the league is willing to give for such a "unicorn" lol

We actually lead the league with goals from our defense and if we actually had a decent forward group we would be in a playoff spot which is wild when you think of how young this team is.

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts... That's what you see when a sports organization has strong leadership that understands & commits to building a culture of excellence.

Future is Bright 😎

I'm really interested to see how Monty responds if the Habs give him the ball to run with. Can he keep it up? His play has been largely positive every since the start of last year, but it feels like they never give him that heightened day to day workload.

This 3 goalie situation sucks, and it's handcuffing the ability to decisively run with any goalie. I truly believe the Habs would be over 500 if they gave Monty a greater run, despite the key injuries, although that might not be desirable either in the long run.

Missed part of the first because I thought the game would be a west coast start time.

What you write is true. It’s inexplicable. Both the man-games lost and our record.

For the sake of keeping the hairs on Kent Hughes’ head I hope we see a season-defining streak soon (hopefully a winning one). Fighting for a playoff spot is classic Habs hockey, if this is our new level I’m glad to see it.

Exciting, looking foward to watch him next.

BTW, Ive been watching Tij Iginla last 3 games, very fast and skilled, but didnt really dominate shifts, still very fun player to watch, great shot too, the rise in the rankings is warranted IMO.

The thing with Iginla is he got next to no playing time with Seattle last season. That was a very heavy veteran team with aspirations for a Memorial Cup. He was a 4th liner.

I look at this season almost like a rookie season for him in the sense there are now top line expectations for him. I expect him to grow into that role more as the season moves along. He's one of the players I'm expecting to have a better 2nd half then 1st half.

It depends on how many veterans we can sell off at TDL too.

Slaf on the first line, was great to see.................he and the two big boys, in Nick and Cole had a very good game.
Would like to see a 8-10 game stint with this line in place.
Team effort last night, and great to see some guys get scoring again.......
Monty made some huge saves.

Redemption incoming for thursday night, against the LA squad.
