Heineman is my Hero.
I agree . Everyone rightfully so talks about how good his shot is , though I add his finishing moves up close are amazing , we saw it today on the goal , we saw it in the shootout . Kid can finish up close and with finisse and not just tip the puck, and that is something the Habs seriously lack

Wins like these sometime makes me think we might not be that bad if Patrck Laine carries on this back.

And that deadwood like Slaf, Kirby and Newhook finally wakes up.

2nd half of the season might be interesting if everyone stays healthy.
One of these things is not like the others, one of these things does not belong :help:

Intentional slump by Caufield. He was waiting for the perfect moment to score his 13th.

I think Heineman has another gear in him. Right now he's a lunchbox kinda guy with a great shot, but he has the potential for more. Who knows if he'll achieve it.

Slaf's game reminds me of his game against HIFK in the playoffs where he scored 1+1. Similar goal, nice bank pass.
Heineman play every game with the same energy. So far he is a really good bottom
6 forward. I let him progress without pressure there this year because he progress every game.

If we put him on the top 6 will he be able to be as efficient. Maybe he will feel the pressure to produce? But for sure right now he's been consistent and a really good surprise. Definitely a player that can play on a second line if he continue to develop.

Let him cook, he is doing his little things without getting to much attention but he's gonna push for a bigger role sooner than later

Overall it ended up being a good game. Even with 3 goals against they kept driving. After Slafkovsky scored it felt like they started skating a bit better and actually shooting more. For the flack Newhook sometimes takes the guy skates and doesn’t give up opportunities to shoot which is nice. The team needs more shooting. They just cracked over 20 shots this game including OT.

Primeau still shakey a few posts and delayed reactions to plays. However a win is a win and he made some saves late to get it to OT, so props there. Hopefully he can build on the win and have the confidence. To start the game everyone pretty much reacted on the game thread the same at the start game when it showed his 4.59 GAA. So it went down last night which is a good thing lol.

Like some have said this morning, with the way they’ve been playing, they are actually only 3 games below .500.

If Dach and a few others get some production going they could start adding on some wins.

Dvorak and Anderson looked deadly on the PK which is weird to say but they had multiple chances scoring short handed. Anderson was really using his speed and putting the shoulder down offer last night driving the net. Motivation looks like it’s there.

Heineman is coming into his own looks good watch him progress game by game. He had the making of a really good power forward.

I’d like to take this win as maybe the start of something. I hope my optimism is right.

we can beat bad teams, how many more of them do we play?

A lot. NYR & Boston are up next and both are shitting the bed right now, so we'll see.

Then we get NYI, Nashville, Anaheim, Pittsburgh, Detroit x 2, and Columbus again before Christmas.

Only 2 tough teams: home to Washington and @ Winnipeg.

November was actually a really tough month. December is a softer part of our schedule. 7 of 12 games against bottom 10 teams before Christmas.

Post-Christmas through January is probably our toughest month. 14 of 17 games are against top 10 teams).

I missed the sweater.
Several mentions on social media, like this:

Missed it too but couldn’t find a pic of it. Maybe someone who has a recording of the game, can freeze and capture it — all in the name of the advancement of science, naturally. 💀

I hope the guys build on last night game instead of reverting, again.

That was some good group efforts, much better puck support from all. Better mental. I wouldn't change the lines for the weekend (outside sitting Roy if Laine is ready).

Columbus might not be considered a great team, but they had a 7-2-1 record at home before losing last night.

And losing while playing like they did tonight wouldn't have been catastrophic. The real problem has always been how they lost the games since the season started: deflate once scored on first.

They didn't deflate tonight. Their fought for every inches of the ice in the 3rd despite being in a back-to-back (until that Barron's penalty anyway). More of that please (without the late Barron's penalty).

Like some have said this morning, with the way they’ve been playing, they are actually only 3 games below .500.
3-1-1 in the last 5 games. 4-4-2 in the last 10.

If they can stop being Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, they should be able to close that 3 games gap before December is over.

Heinemann turning into good player. Has speed and shot. Reminds me of Lekhonen but with more of an edge.
Heinemann plays a much heavier game and has a much better shot than Lekhonen. Both have above average skating. Heinemann is cementing his position and role on this team going forward with his speed, physicality, high compete level and surprising offensive potential. He's the type of player you want in the line-up when you play 'heavy' teams like Florida, Vegas, etc.

As they say, anything is possible when you can skate. And Heinemann can skate. He'll fit right in with the speedy team that Hughes is slowly assembling (Tuch, Beck, Hage, etc.).

I thought they played great. Again, I hate that the habs dont get bailed out by their goaltender when they have a defensive breakdown. Every team has defensive breakdowns, but I feel like it always ends up in the back of the net.

Slaf, Newhook, and Dach looked good yesterday btw. We finally saw 2023 Slafkovsky. When he is aggressive, he is very very very hard to play against.

Shoutout to Heineman who has been amazing since the beginning of the year. Perfect bottom 6 player.

Habs fans aren't used to normal NHL goaltending. Too much used to Price saving the rest of the team.

Primeau did a slighty better job than Elvis last night...and Elvis is CJB starting goalie at $5.4m/aav.
