The wild hot takes about Robertson are really weird right now, jeez
nope - totally missed 2 nice scoring opportunities on the same shift, draws a penalty then takes a stupid penalty. That kind of play does not impress

Leafs should take the habs reg season games more seriously this year as we go for the division

Division will be much tughter (no 130 pt team).

Getting 6-7 pts out if 8 (think we play the habs 4 times) should be the game plan

He has barely shown any of this skill at the NHL level. Shows in preseason when the rosters are somewhat competitive he doesn't have it. Trade him for low pick. Better to sell low then sell at 0.

Are we going to do this song and dance for 5 years and hope he shows us in the 5th year hes not trash?

Robertson is only 22 (just turned 22).

He had the same PPG or better than Holtz (21), Drury (23), Neighbours (21), Foudy (23), Raty (20), Slafkovsky (19), Pelletier (22), Holloway (22), and McBain (23) in the NHL last year (only checked rookies).

Posted this in another thread.

He has development years left, and he has raw ability. His hockey IQ is low IMO, but his skills are there, and he has shown as much or more than the players listed above.

Assuming you'd give up on all those players?

f*** who is excited for the next 8 months of Kypreos shitting on the Leafs on our own regional coverage lmao

"Leafs won't go on a run in the playoffs with their soft D"

"Treliving knows how to assemble tough D like in Calgary... despite them having no success"

They also brought up Colorado who has softer D than us...

He is an idiot.

Haven't been overly impressed with anyone so far tonight, and that's OK because it is pre season.

Actually you know what? That's not true Noah Gregor has been good

Low IQ players tend not to give you bang for your buck when it comes to seeing results vs raw talent but Robertson is young and you just let him develop in his own time. There’s no real reason to make any decision with him.

Leafs look pretty good top to bottom tonight. The opposition is what it is but the creativity is there, the puck handling crisp. Tavares looks faster once again. Liljegren looks comfortable and confident. Knies is physically assertive. Lots of little area plays from the big guns. Seem to be sticking up for each other. For preseason I’m not sure what else you need.

100% agree.

I don't think he has a great career ahead of him, but a 3rd forward on a line who can be a hound on the puck and chip in offensively.

He definitely has potential and he is young, but people forget that because he joined the AHL so young.

uggg that was soo bad, that was on Auston

Besides his shot being off last season; his conditioning to begin and end the season was pretty average.

here is hoping its just pre-season mindset and not ... (i don't even wanna think about it)

when was the last time Leafs actually decided to dominate bottom dwellers? I seriously can't remember.

This panel is so much better than the last few years of Sportsnet. Nice to not hear Jen Botterill crying about the players being mean to each other
Or for that matter Kevin splainin about how he's always right and if there's no injury then no one did anything wrong and DoPS shouldn't be involved
