The plan is for the Habs to tank, and to kamikaze themselves and bring Florida down with them (nothing against you Florida, but we have that sweet, sweet 2023 1st of yours, and we need Connor Bedard)

The best way to achieve that, is to arm those who can bring Florida down and keep them down

Won't be traded: Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Guhle, Xhekaj, Slafkovsky, Mesar, Beck, Hutson (we need them for the rebuild), Gallagher (because you don't want him anyway, his contract isn't worth talk about)

Every one else is on the table.

We can retain up to 50% of salaries on Drouin, Hoffman, Dadonov and Monahan, if needed.

We can pick up your garbage contracts of 1 year too, if you need cap space

What can we do to help you pummel Florida out of the playoffs?

Detroit and buffalo do have the cap space. They aren’t trading 1sts, 2nd, or top prospect for your misfit toys.

It's a good idea but why would they want any of those players? They're terrible. Who would they play over?

Does Josh Anderson fight/play physical/score even 20 goals still? Detroit needs some grit and physicality, especially with all their injuries.

Your team isn't that much better than ours, bro

SURELY the Sabres can upgrade at some positions, right?

Cheap/Good/Serviceable depth for brutal playoffs?

Doesn't fight much but play plenty physical, that's for sure
I don't know about 20 goals but he'll be probably 40 points+ player this year IMO
Not a great contract and not the best hands, but he's as fast as the wind, as tough as they get and never take a shift off

How is any of this going to help "beat down" Florida?

Maybe by getting better depth?

Sabres had D injuries with 3 of their top 5 out with injuries during an 0-8-0 streak. Evrn now they are still playing missing 2=of their top 5.

outside of that losing streak they are 13-6-2

buffalo doesn’t need your misfit toys.

fight not really
play physical sure, not every night. he can be a ghost out there but he can also be a beast and be the best player on the ice
he has 8 goals in 26 games (25 goals pace) but only 2 assits (absolutly no playmaking ability)
he's really inconsistent but I think he's still a valuable player that can be great in the playoffs

I wouldn't trade him just to dump him, I would want something good in return. He has actually pretty good chemestry with Slafkovsky and Monahan (out injured tho). He brings value to the team.

Well good on you

Still prove the point that Buffalo is a couple of injuries away of straight up sucking

Having better depth could hep Buffalo avoid that

Not really is buffalo going to play them over players like Peterka, Quinn or Mittlestadt? They arent good and they have huge cap hits. They have negative value.

If not them, that could also be a guy like Josh Anderson or Joel Edmunson

Edmunson at 3.5M/Y (2 years) isn't that bad but Edmunson at 1,75M/Y (2 years) is a fantastic deal IMO

there are a bunch of other D out there.

with the cap not going up much there are teams that will need to free up space that could get better deals snd better players. They could be moving D with term to free up space.
