Mailloux needs at least 2-3 seasons in the AHL imo. He played 31 games in 2 full years. My expectations long term are really low. I'd be surprised if Kidney and Roy make the team. They might need 2 years in the AHL and some call-ups here and there. I believe Dvorak will be traded at some point in the next 2 years, same with Armia. Id welcome Byron back if he stays healthy as a veteran presence (unless there's a Corey Perry #2 out there). I'd rather have a veteran center for the 4th line à la Thompson

Caufield - Suzuki - UFA/Draft
RHP - Wright - Ylonen
Rem Pitlick - Evans - Anderson
Byron - Poehling - Pezzetta
Gallagher (not exactly the extra forward, don't know where to put him)

Guhle - Savard
Edmundson - Barron
Romanov - Harris
Norlinder, Schu

Price/Montembault
Primeau

Honestly it's a bad lineup but typical in the rebuild.

Dvorak is too slow to be a H11G0 type of player so they will probably trade him.

2032 lineup

Bedard (obviously we’re winning 2 years in a row) - Wright- the two or three pieces of Gallagher that aren’t broken

Hockey playing robot-McDavid Jr- the Ghost of Josh Anderson

3rd line is reserved only for MPs from Quebec parliament now cause politics wasn’t invasive enough before

Caufield-Suzuki-J Roy (they’re old but they make decent 4th liners now)

That is the smallest, least physical forward group ever. We would be TO 2.0.
Good season team, worthless PO team

We need a full top pairing on D and a new starting goalie. At forward we have a ton of options depending on who we draft...

Caufield-Suzuki-Michkov
Ylonen-Wright-Anderson
Poehling-Dvorak-Evans
HarveyPinard-Mysak-Gallagher
*Teasdale, Heineman

xxxx-xxxx
Romanov-Guhle
Harris-Barron
*Norlinder, Fairbrother, Xhekaj

xxxx-Primeau

I highly doubt Mailloux, Roy and Kidney are ready by 2024. Farrell maybe.

Is this the thread where we project all our prospects make the team only to find that we are horribly wrong?

This is crazy, given how horrible we've been the last decade.

How did you get rid of Armia before his deal expired?

Here is my line-up prediction. A third to a half of the players on any posters predictions will be wrong. Two years can be an eternity in pro sports.

Way too early.

Did you know that 12 players who were on the Habs SC Finals team were gone or have been traded over the last season ? So, anything can happen within a single year.

Weber
Price (almost gone)
Merrill
Gustaffson
Staal
Perry
Chiarot
Kulak
Danault
Lehkonen
KK
Tatar

PLUS long term injuries to Edmundson, Drouin, Byron....

Anderson - Suzuki - Caufield
Drouin - Wright - Gallagher
Hoffman - Dvorak - Evans
Pitlick - Poehling - Armia

Romanov - Petry
Edmundson - Savard
Guhle - Wideman

Price - Allen

It does turn over quickly. Here is the Habs lineup taken from the GDT from a game vs. Calgary in March, 2021:

Drouin-Suzuki-Anderson
Toffoli-KK-Gallagher
Tatar-Danault-Armia
Lekhonen-Byron-Perry

Romanov-Weber
Eddy-Petry
Kulak-Mete

Price
Allen

So in about a season and a half, 9/20 players are no longer with the team and there are three more (Price, Byron, Drou) who might not overcome injuries to be with the team at Game 1 on Oct/22.

Shoutout to OP for calling the Michkov pick, we probs won't draft him but we might have a very good opportunity to do so

Wonder what our forwards would look like right now, before heading into the draft and UFA

Caufield - Suzuki - Anderson
Newhook - Dach - RHP
Slafkovsky - Dvorak - Monahan
Armia - Evans - Ylonen
Hoffman

I think Armia and Hoffman should be gone so we'll see if anything happens there...thinking Dvorak is tradeable too since we have guys that can fill into that #3C spot, maybe Evans (hoping last year was an off year) but left all 3 in since they're still on the team.

Inserted Ylonen but depends on if he has a good camp or not.

Wanted to leave Slaf and Monahan together since he played really well with Monahan. Would roll all 3 lines for 15+ mins each, then give the balance of EV time to the 4th line.

Where is slafkovsky?
I like your top 6, but I don’t want slaf playing with Dvorak..
Newhook-Suzuki-Caufield
Slafkovsky-Dach-Monahan
Heineman-Evans-Anderson
RHP- Dvorak- Gallagher
Armia-Pezzeta

Hoffman and pitlick sent down

Gallagher?

I forgot we had him lol...I forgot we had Slaf too, had to make a ninja edit. We're deep but no star forwards.

Yah I forgot about Slaf lol, I edited him in afterwards...I don't want Slaf playing with Dvo either, I think Dvo should be traded for futures or help on D because he's too good for the 4th line but we don't need him on the 3rd since others can fill in.
