Like Armia, the right guy is called up. No need to call up one of the youngsters, who need bigger minutes in Laval at the moment. Later in the season, that can change. But right now, Armia and Lindstrom are the right guys to call up.

Engels speculating Savard out.

Well, if that's the case, I am looking forward to seeing a Matheson-Barron pairing if that's how MSL goes.

Could be a broken bone in his arm/wrist/hand from one of those shot blocks.

Also, I wouldn't have minded seeing Norlinder. But I'm guessing Lindstrom may be playing better, in addition to being a right shot. Whoever gets called up will at least dress, though for sure they may not play a lot.

I would have called Norlinder instead. He had a really good camp and probably the best D to play on the PP

Now I understand why HuGo targeted Lindstrom…for 7/8 D option, having to call prospects up in case of emergency and interrupting their development in Laval
When Norlinder been cut, he was already playing well in Montreal since 2/3 matchs. They decided to cut him because he wasnt a regular. Now, he is playing on the second wave PP in Laval, he isnt really producing. Beaudin is playing on the first. I don’t understand why. Lindstrom wasnt good during the whole camp

Maybe just as last year, the plan is to develop an aspect of Norlinder’s game fans are not privy to? The goal last year was clearly not, just get him TOI, it was specific defensive situations to develop his awareness

If we can developp something into Norlinder, this is to become a PP specialist. I don’t think he is gonna develop as monster in the defensive zone at 23 years old. The way he was playing on the PP, during pre season, the calm he had on the blue line was NHL ready. gustav lindstrom bring nothing

You expecting the new medical staff to do that Mr. Miyagi thing and have the Habs crane kick their way to victory? :D

It's definitely frustrating and kind of funny, yes, but they can't stop hockey plays from happening.

Lindstrom wasn't playing better, not even close. They recalled a RD to replace a RD

Harris is LD but can play RD. I think Xhekaj already does too..
Harris is so much better on LD that I would only play him on RD in an emergency.

Ok but how do blocked shots that can lead to bruised tissue or broken/fractured bone
Have anything to do with the medical staff? How is it their faults?

Reading all that stuff this summer about medical staffs
Do people believe they're job is having the ability to make players invincible?

In their own zone they'll get torched
Try Matheson-Kovasevic first
Barron with Arber
Harris with Gustav
Yeah it makes more sense for Kovacevic to play with Matheson.

But on the second pair, maybe you go Harris - Barron, since Harris is more stable than Arber at this point in their careers. Then you could have Xhekaj's strength balance out Lindstrom's main weakness - he's kind of soft.

A little bonus to trying Matheson-kovasevic
If it looks good at ALL
It can accelerate the process of needing to trade Savard

How has Norlinder looked defensively?

Norlinder was maybe the best D man for Montreal in the pre season when it comes to prospects but whatever let’s bring up this bum. Wings fans couldn’t stand Lindstrom so let’s see why

Once again its that style of play. Fall back, block shots, always be on the receiving end. 4 games and 2 players are out indefinitely already. This is just ridiculous. And yet still playing the same style year after year.

To be honest he hasn't look that good either. Come to think of it, no D has stood out except Jayden Struble who has been easily the best Dman in Laval.

Mailloux shows the most upside but he is not nearly ready.
Trudeau was been below average.
Beaudin has been ok.
Norlinder not much better than Lindstrom.
