Guelph Storm 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part I

Stillman needs to go… he has taken a bunch of good young players and made them a lot worse.
systems or not it doesn’t matter if you aren’t winning:

? Did you expect our band of 16 and 17 year olds, the youngest team in the league, to beat the loaded Knights? Where were you when Wiseman was here...
Next year they’ll take a big leap I am sure. Particularly Singh, Steven’s, mclean, Beauchesne and snelgrove and Jenken would be the ones I’d be keeping an eye on.

That’s NOT even including guys like skvortsov, McFadden, McKenzie, Serlin, Paquette(late birthday OA) and some obvious ones- Ellsworth and Jovanovski the goalies.

Without a doubt you’ll be best in 2 years but next year you should be a still young team. May not compete against the top of the league but could be 0.500 or slightly above. Also factor in you’ll likely miss the playoffs and get a top 4 pick in the OHL Draft, u18 (depth), and Import draft top 12-16? You should have a very good fun to watch team when the mem cup is back in 2026-27, and if Luchanko comes back and you trade him for whatever you’ll be in an even better spot- same with Paquette for picks

You didn't even mention Katzin, 17 and highest PPG rookie in the league. Guelph will be fine, news flash, that's the case even in the likely scenario that they also lose to Oshawa this weekend!! No need for pearl clutching.

Brantford and Oshawa up next. Glad we're healthy (save for Jenkin, hope he's OK!), and have the leadership group sorted. Our top 6 F are now vets, except for Katzin, less pressure on the rookie forwards will be good for them. The D/goalies are still young and in tough each night, but they'll learn through doing. I can't wait to see our goalie tandem in 2 years.

Oh absolutely I know Katzin for sure but I believe he is committed to penn state for next year so he won’t be back. That’s why I didn’t mention him.

Will be a tough weekend against some of the better teams in the east but for you guys I think it’s all about taking it day by day, working on what you can work on and staying healthy is a must. You won’t be doing anything this year and likely miss the playoffs but that’s okay because you have a great future and it’ll only become greater with some extra young talented players added to the mix.

We'll see if he heads to Penn State or if he's drafted and stays in Guelph.

Hats off to coach Stillman and Ellsworth in the pipes tonight. Great road strategy from the coach and amazing game in net from your goalie.

From a Gens fan, it's hard to imagine this team is in the position they are with the way they played tonight.

Well done.

Last nights win is a great launch into the next 10 games which will make or break our chances to move up in the standings and into the playoffs.
