Guelph is flush with picks, you need young bodies. I could see Read (07), Van Bommel (06) and Bidgood (07) for Lushanko but there would be several NTC that would have to be waived as they are high school students.

I know there would be screams of under value but those are three blue chips, maybe not all-stars but solid 3+ year players.

That might work for a roster like Peterborough, Saginaw, or Niagara a year or two ago; but Guelph has too much young talent and likely lottery range picks upcoming to accept a bulk payment.

Not trade related but why is the start time in Guelph tonight at 6:37? Is there some significance to that time?

The minute part is always random... but usually we don't have Wednesday night home games, so I assume 6:30 instead of 7:30pm is because it's a better weeknight start for families. A lot of kid teams (including ours) in attendance tonight.

So sad to hear of the sudden passing of the gentleman that did the DJing from the loft at the games. He was just present on Sunday. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

Karabela and McGuire out tonight. Are they injured or healthy scratched?
Could it be Karabela is on the trading block, and McGuire does not appear to be on the Storm's roster

McGuire no longer with the Storm. I think he was released and signed with the Corvairs.

Budnick the last move, Jett is here to stay. I'm liking the early moves and stocked picks. When healthy we've got a solid vet group in Luchanko, Paquette, Namestnikov and Karabela to mentor the youngins who will get plenty of ice time.

I love seeing Jovo in net, a tough loss last night but I do think this is a team who could still make the playoffs...

I agree we are done as per the masterplan.
Other GM's may not agree, and if not, it will be on our terms.

Ryan McGuire is slated to be called back and return to the Storm lineup tonight in Flint. I was wondering yesterday if this was a possibility but wasn't sure what the rules were on it. I'm happy to see this - never wanted to see him go in the first place.

Very successful month of transactions with signings and trades.

Out - (4) Budnick Allen, Alriksson and Gillespie

In - (17) Jenken, Bottineau, Katzin, Frossard and McGuire, 4 - 2nds, 6 -3rds, 1- 5th and 1 cond 5th

1 open Import which will be an early pick
1 or 2 open OA spots to be filled at lower prices.
Currently a top entry draft pick along with 2 2nd and 3 3rd round picks. Possibly move 1 or 2 to future. Draft board is well stocked in future years.
Only OA's and perhaps Luchanko not returning.

Even as young as our D and G is we still can make the playoffs this year if we can get and stay healthy.

The future looks much brighter IMO.

Think you guys will be amazing in 2 years.

Also haven’t even traded Luchanko. If he comes back next year you’ll get a kings ransom for him.

May be one of those teams bidding for mem cup in 2027. Early predictions for that:

4 teams bidding. Kitchener, Guelph, Sarnia, Niagara

I think you can add the Soo to that list.

True. Funny how so many teams are from the west and right now in the east it only seems like maybe Niagara would be able to. Peterborough and north bay (especially north bay) I’m sure will be great teams but not sure they have the arena to host

Would be cool to see Sudbury get it when the new building gets finished

I forget- when is that they’ll be done?? If it’s 2027 maybe we could add them to the list assuming next year they sell off Mews, Villenueve and Walton. Not sure if they do that though.

One things for sure is if they sold off those 3 guys they could be the front runner or at the very least a top contender for it. Perhaps paps was playing chess acquiring mews for that sole purpose- another body to trade and assuming next year they trade they’d get a lot of picks for the 2027, 2028 and 2029, 2030 draft which would be very valuable obviously with having lots of picks in the year of the mem cup coming back here plus up to 2-3 years out after that.

All they’d have to do next year is trade those 3 and hold onto guys like Blonda, Chitaroni, whoever they get this year in the 1st, Clayton, Henderson and the rest of the 17 year old boys this year, all their 16 year olds now would be 18 then, and Marshall who has looked good would be an OA and I’m sure 2 years down the road he’s a top 5-10 goalie
