It looks like the picks for Murray were the two we got for Papais plus a 3rd in 2026 (easily recoouped). A good trade that fills a much needed hole on defense.

I am really not a fan of splitting up Buchinger/Allen. I know it's been a desperate attempt at improving the defense, but it's not working. We still need a top 4 RD.

I liked the line combo/pairings tonight.

Luchanko should not be logging so many PP minutes as a rookie.

I really, really miss the PK of Pius Suter.

I feel bad for Oster, he is hanging tough with no help.

I think this team needs a good old fashion bag skate. They are definitely not following the system and not competing for the puck. Most times on Friday they were playing as though they were on PK even though it was 5 on 5.

And they were playing a team that finished last overall a year ago. We should be top 4 in our conference with the number of players we have.

If Guelph somehow manage to turn up the GAF and turn this ship around, trade Luchanko and picks at the deadline for Mintyukov and Bloom (if Saginaw are sellers.)

Bloom/Zhilkin/Poitras
Pastujov/Karabela/Bowman
Zhugin/Walker/McFarlane
McK's/McGuire/Paquette

Mintyukov/Murray
Buchinger/Allen
Okitundu/Robinson
Sandhu/Topp

Otherwise, I hope they deal off Pastujov at the very least.

FYI, Matt Papais has been a great addition to the OS Attack .

Hes got 3 G, 1 A in four games , he's solid at both ends.

He's doing a great job here and is fast becoming a fan fav .

That's good to hear. Glad he managed to land in O.S. after whatever is happening in Niagara.

Silver linings.... Gavin Grudner with a solid game, he is putting up almost 2 PPG this season in the GOJHL. It was refreshing to see the GAF from a kid who is older but wanting to prove himself. Likewise with Dixon Grimes. I pumped his tires last year in the pre-season, it is good to see him get a start and look solid. He definitely wanted the winning goal back, but again during a time when the team defense looks weak - he stood tall and came out with a solid effort. No shame there. I'm hoping the coaching comes together and this team can play to their potential.

In a pre-season interview, Scott Walker mentioned that the team would have high expectation, but it was not a "go for it year" based on the age of the core. Lets at the very least hope for a solid effort at both ends of the ice each night. A tough loss tonight, hopefully they come back strong tomorrow. My U8 kiddo is on ice at the Sleeman tomorrow morning so we will try to bring the positive mojo. 😝

How has Payton Robinson looked for the storm

He is being given every opportunity as Guelph is not deep on Defense. He is getting top 4 minutes. I am neutral. I don't think that he is a top 4 D on a contending team based on how he is playing, however Guelph has been splitting up Allen/Buchinger so if he has a solid partner it works if the forwards are being defensively responsible.

Thanks for this.

This team is in big trouble this year- 18th in power play, dead last in penalty kill -barely 50%.
Players seem to be trying, but no sign of a system. Inappropriate line changes (from a 3 on 2 to 1 on 5) Over coaching? Under coaching? Someone needs to correct the problems before the whole season is lost.

Hey guys, I have a pair of tickets to Friday’s game vs Mississauga if anyone is interested.
