A lot of signs piling up that we maybe should not be selling the farm to make a push for a deep playoff run right now. Just so many things working against us on the key injury and luck front.

If they can persevere through these injuries and battle through for a few months and get mostly healthy and iron out the kinks, that would be awesome, but logistically right now you can't be moving that 1st or either of our top prospects unless we're getting back a high quality piece with term left.

Absolutely correct on moving the high end pieces, but this shouldn't be an excuse for management to stand pat. A Friedman- or Bear-level addition right now could make a major difference for this team.

Some personal news. Canucks Army asked me to contribute and my first article was published this morning.

Very cool Vector. Now you just need a funky nickname. Quads and abs are taken. Could you be biceps or hamstrings? Calves perhaps? Maybe Vecs pecs?

Low cost move around the fringes makes sense, but yeah, can't be trying to do the Zadorov/Lindholm type deals of last year where this team was cruising and 100% healthy.

Oh you don't think the player should wear of of the blame here?
He should wear the blame for his play, but he's hardly playing at all, so that's hard to judge.

I don't know what the agent is saying to the org, what the org is saying to him, what his attitude is. You're the one basically just reading into that stuff despite your spiel about "unknowable information".

The facts are that he is often healthy scratched, and when in the lineup, he hardly plays. If they want to maximize Jiricek's development, that is clearly not a good path.

Matthews, Ovechkin, Miller all out or with bad updates on the same day.

Unless an absolute no-brainer opportunity presents itself, stand pat for now.

Give some leash to the kids to play more and see what they got.

I'm just thankful this happened before we traded the 1st away, because that now has the potential to be a top 10 pick.

The unknowable comment was to how big the team's role was in "ruining their asset".

You would have to completely disregard everything that he said and he did last year to pin this all on team.

Totally agree that the current path is a bad one and frankly it makes no sense unless they're trying to trade him, or he's told them flat out that he won't report to the AHL. I suspect it's the prior, but wouldn't rule out the latter.

heck
People acting like the season is over already need to get a grip.

Yes, the next two or three weeks will likely be very rough. But once Miller, Boeser, and Demko are back, and as Joshua gets closer to full strength/playing ability, things will be fine...aside from still needing an upgrade on D.

The Canucks have played 17 of 82 regular season games. And even with their troublesome start they're still 12th in the league standings, in part thanks to a butter soft early schedule.

There's still tons of hockey to be played. Tons of time for things to change. Tons of time before the playoffs start.
