I thought Sprong was totally fine, and there was a lot of discussion about working with him on his game (like VD).

I guess they think Lekk is ready (plus Joshua) and want to cash in on cap for the deadline?

Assuming Joshua, do we dare call up Lekk? With Brock out, it doesn't hurt to call up the young fella and let him know how the NHL game is.

Making room on the roster is all.

Clears a contract space at least.
Yep. Some folks don't understand.

Where's Hoglander in this lineup?

I think sooner or later we're adding a RH bottom-6 center that can win faceoffs and PK. Someone that can play a stable role on the 4th line and keep Miller off the PK which are just unnecessary minutes for him.

Raty showed some flashes in the preseason but still doesn't look like a regular NHL player outside of his faceoff ability. Wouldn't be comfortable with him heading into the playoffs and I imagine the coach shares that feeling.

I agree. I think they'd ideally like to add a 3c guy to go between Heinen and Sherwood. That leaves Suter, Blueger and Hoglander, maybe, as an unbelievable 3b line.

I wonder if a Hoglander for Frederic deal makes sense. 26y upcoming UFA, 6’3 220lbs, can play center or wing, 18g/40p all even strength, has PK utility, size, speed, and physicality.

Debrusk-Miller-Boeser
Joshua-Pettersson-Garland
Heinen-Frederic-Sherwood
Suter-Blueger-Bains

Personally I love center/wing hybrids.

maybe a righty center is a better choice. tocheet loves those types of players. win the important draws in the dzone like lindholm.

if nashville does seem to blow it all up minus the contracts he signed stamkos/marchy. could roman josi be avaliable i know hes 34 but he can still play. would be nice on the 2nd pairing .

Even if he was available, doesn't seem wise to give up the premium assets it would take to acquire him given his age.

Not to mention we'd have to find a way to fit 9M cap.

Personally I love center/wing hybrids.

Frederic is probably a player Tocchet would prefer in his bottom 6 over someone like Hoglander but two issues:

1. Bruins have not been good as a whole but he's one of the players in particular that has struggled.
2. He can play center but he's more of a winger.

Would prefer a natural RH that can win faceoffs, particularly for the PK.
