I should just go play SteamWorld Heist II or give my next article another editing pass.

I dont even know how to make the money work without taking on Dumba or some other junk? And as you say…its weak as it is.

Unfortunately one of the most obvious ways is Benn.....

Yeah, but why would he agree to it? Leave a contender for this?

Seguin on LTIR. Stars have the space if they want. No chance Benn waives or the Stars ask him.

Unbelievable that Miller is playing.

Would Miller go to Dallas?

They have way better prospects than NYR.

Just shocked that they would play Miller, so shortsighted.

All of the cameras are going to be on the Canucks bench tonight and they’ll all be looking dead straight and emotionless like EA NHL characters.

This tease of a trade before the game is frustrating… and odd they wouldn’t sit JT

Didn’t realize Seguin was out until the playoffs…then I guess it’s a possibility…still not really a fan of what they have to offer.
there were rumors like 2 months ago that the stars want to weaponize the capspace.. malkin was mentioned at the timeif you remember that

Pettersson over Miller is the right move.
if the decision has to be binary then yeah it's unquestionably the right move

but if they moved pettersson i think it's totally justifiable given a full calendar year of middle-low 2c level play & question marks of his mentality.

Or at least what they would be willing to offer. I'd be happy with Stankoven even if I'm not a fan of a winger being the centerpiece.

I like Bichsel a lot but haven't followed his development. I do not like Bourque.

Or we could have traded EP40 for Neccas, Kotkaniemi and Morrow. Easy to play this game with the clarity of 20/20 hindsight.
I posted a million times between when we inked the OEL deal and the 2023 trade deadline that we should do exactly that. It's not even 1% hindsight, it was extremely obvious at the time.

I also still wouldn't do the Carolina deal for EP

I dont mind Bichsel, but I’m not a fan of Bourque either…Stankoven is good, but im not sure how much i like the idea of his size up front with a smaller forward group as it is.

Mixed feelings on everything. Still in shock we’re at this potential stage after the promise of last season.

To suffer through 9 years of Jim Benning only to come through the other side of that with the team last year that looked primed for a 3-5 year window as a legitimate contending team, only for it to be torpedoed by the fact that both our our star forwards are petulant little pissbabies is seriously the most depressing development I can every remember.

As bad as Benning was, anger generates engagement and I was still engaged throughout that period because I was so bloody furious. Right now I just feel defeated. I shut the last two games off mid-way through which is something I don't think I've ever done in my life.

Dallas wouldn't need to remove anyone off their active roster to fit Miller, however even with cap increasing next year Sequin will be returning. I doubt they would be able/or want to take on Miller without moving off at least 1 contract.

The 3 (not all) are:

Dadonov - $2.25 million x 1
Marchment - $4.5 million x 2
Dumba - $3.75 million x 2

At least 1 of these guys would need to be involved just to balance things out a bit.

As for the rest of the deal, there's sort of a template.

Player with contract (see above)
Propsect
Pick (or player which team might prefer)

Could see something like this

To Dallas:

Miller

To Vancouver:

Marchment
Lian Bichsel
Mavrik Bourque

Canucks get an NHL ready d-man in Bichsel and Bourque who has nothing left to prove in the AHL.

Marchment helps balance the salaries.

Miller is the best player in the deal but gives Dallas a chance to get over the hump.
