  • Canucks didn’t want to do a futures deal early on in negotiated but have relented and are willing to take that as a return when it comes to making a deal with a contender

Bracing myself for an underwhelming return. I was somewhat excited at the prospect of Lafreniere / Schneider, but hearing Chytil/Lindgren and a pick is ugh.
Praying that the plan is to flip Lindgren for a C or futures at the TDL.

His body is breaking down and he’s projected to get a fat contract as a supposed top 4 dman

Sounds like it's finally ending. Good to hear there are multiple suitors.

Sad end to what was (at times) a brilliant career for this franchise. He had some of the greatest seasons for a Canuck forward we've ever seen despite the emotional issues and disappearing acts.

I feel Miller is on the same level of someone like Bertuzzi in terms of his place in Canuck lore (obviously not comparing the Moore situation to this).

yeah, Miller is right up there.

basically the second he stepped on the ice as a canucks he's played liked a 1st line powerforward who can make plays and eventually became a 1C.

Bertuzzi peaked higher and obviously bigger and meaner. But Bertuzzi didn't even know what defense is.

If Miller has demanded a trade, then I really hope the Canucks don't make the same mistake Benning did and just trade him to the one or two destinations sought after at a cripplingly low price.

Instead, I'd tell JT that we will only trade him for "market" value, and that if the one or two teams he wants to go aren't willing to offer that, then we will just wait and expect him to play or he can open up the teams he is willing to accept a trade to. I know that it hurts us in the short term, but a trade of this magnitude has long term ramifications.
