Sure, but that's not a particularly massive leap. He said, "Miller has no preferred city for which he'd waive his no-movement clause". So basically the Rangers thing is bogus, and he'll consider requests as they are presented. Dhaliwal did not say "Miller would only waive for the Rangers" or "Miller will not waive his no-movement clause."
I’d much rather try and take advantage of Lou.

Romanov, 2025 1st plus other pieces to make the cap work seems like it could work out well.

But I don’t see why Miller would waive for Long Island.

Yeah, the Islanders totally suck, so I could see him vetoing that. But wouldn't at all be surprised if he'd be prepared to waive for pretty much any major US market that is competitive at this point, outside maybe Carolina.

I never once thought JT was going to be traded. Even Pete for thdat matter. But after all the trade rumors last few years this is the first time I feel they are legit.

Wouldn't be shocked anymore to see Miller gone by the draft.

I think they're willing to move either for the right package. Obviously, it's probably quite a rich ask, and it will all depend on whether someone pays the asking price. Otherwise, I think they'll still keep them into the summer and revisit during the offseason.

It's kind of shocking how poorly things have gone since the start of the playoffs (Demko injury, Miller's injury/ies, Petey + Hoglander's struggles) and into this season (poor off-season D decisions, more injuries, more struggles from key contributors).

I'm at the point where I think there needs to be a major shakeup involving at least one of Miller or Pettersson. Sadly I don't think there's any going back to how it was before. There's far too much smoke (from legitimate insiders) for it to just be fabricated/exaggerated by the media.

Also I don't know if Tocchet is starting to lose the room. I know the D is f***ing awful right now, but so many players just seem out of it far too often. Countless times the team has come out lifeless in the 1st period.

If the rumoured Miller injury from months ago turns out to be true and he's still playing through it, and that's why he looks like does right now, I'm jumping on the the fire mgmt train.

It’s too bad they bungled the front office by hiring a president that turned around and hired a friend making it questionable as to the separation of both offices. In theory, any trade of Pettersson, should be evaluated by the president who should seek external advice as well to determine the best course of action for the team.

Because Alvin is going to have a bias of “competing now” since that’s clearly his plan and what he’s sold ownership on.

if it's the rumoured thing then it will only heal with time and avoiding playing won't do anything to help it heal faster. i don't believe it's the rumoured thing though (or at least that it's not holding him back) because it's easily manageable with pain meds and pregabalin

i still hold out hope that they go on a heater when everyone gets healthy and all is forgotten. many good teams have contained players who hate each other. some coaches would want that.

if we trade i hope that the team is avoiding cluing in everyone on which one they think needs to be traded and why so they get maximum value for that guy when they do trade him. unfortunately i think that means they are going to need to be discreet and restrained about getting this done and so this may be (another) drawn out ambiguous saga where we speculate a lot and form ill informed hunches.

From the outside they look like utter fools. I wouldn't trust them with a hangnail.
