I think if JT goes to New York Zibanejad is the one coming back. This would likely be a trade to get both players a change of scenery. Not saying I would like that deal, just saying that it is the most likely one to be made.

Zibby is Swedish to boot. Could see it happening. He'd likely get along much better with Pettersson.

The more I think about it, if they can convince Miller to waive that's the route they'll go.

I do see that point of view but it's been going on for 4 years and it has not worked, and now has seemingly pushed this team to the edge of a cliff. Two other teams saw the question marks with JT and cut him loose, but Vancouver has ignored the bullying, hired the perfect coach for him, and put him on a pedestal.

People glossed over the above exchange between Miller and Joshua, but this paints a pretty clear picture of a guy that goes above what is necessary to hold his teammates accountable...especially when he's not wearing the C.

I'm on team both of them. Management committed to both of them. Management needs to help both players grow as people. Group therapy, counselling, sports psychologist. Not just a coach that says "toughen up" to both of them either.
Its been four years of this now. My thought is that if last season with how much the city rallied behind the team and how close the team was (prob 5th best in the league last year) wasn’t enough, it’s never going to be enough

Just thinking out loud but how would you guys feel about something like JT, Hoglander and Desharnais for Trochek, KAM and Chytil?

Trocheck slots in at 2C behind Petey and Canucks get a top 4 to play behind Hughes

It's probably ideal from a Canucks standpoint, but I just can't see the Rangers parting with both Chytil and Ke'Andre Miller.

The only way I could see that happening would be if the Rangers could unload Zibanejad on to the Canucks instead of Trochek. And unfortunately he's now 31, is making far too much money, and from the looks of things, his game has hit the wall.

I’d be much more willing to take on Kreider than Zib. Kreider isn’t as far removed from good play and has less term, salary, and trade protection.

All moot anyways because if there was a trade to be made between these two teams, feel like it would have been done a month ago.

Delia and Schenn in years past too. You can get away with it if you’re Jordan or Crosby or even 2023/24 Miller but I’m sure it’s harder to accept when Miller is playing like he is this year.

yeah, but Cuylle has established himself as one of the leagues best young power forwards A much younger, bigger, faster version of Dakota Joshua. They'd be insane to trade him.
I don’t think they’d trade him for Miller straight up, and reasonably so.

K'Andre, Alexis, and a '27 first.

Easy yes from me, so I don't think it'll happen. I'd want a 2026 1st ideally, but 2027 would give us a shot at Landon Dupont who looks like an absolute stud.

The only reason he wasn't run out of the city last year is because they were winning.

Trocheck, KAM, and a 2nd.

KAM hasn’t had a good year but he is way more established than Schneider and only 1.5 years older.

Put another way, if Schneider ended up where KAM was last season at the end of this year or next, that would be the best case scenario.

Could see something like:

Zib (cap dumb)
KAM - Wallander partner
Schneider
1st rounder - use it later to upgrade the D or top 6

For

JT Miller
Deharnais - Cap dump
Hoglander - Needs a fresh start
EP - D - Balances the Schneider add and a little redundant with Kudratsev and Mynio

Going to have to replace Miller at some point. But in one trade you've repaired your defence.

I feel like any news saying the Canucks are not interested in KAM is just a smokescreen from management via the media

From what Rick said, they weren’t very interested in past talks and that’s what he’s basing it on. Also said that could have changed.

After tonight Demko is absolutely not in the long term plans for the Canucks. He is simply to injury prone and would be a massive risk to commit to long term.

So, what are the numbers people would want to see Lankinen get to stay w the Canucks?

3x4M?

3x3M?

The core here is certainly turning over right in front of us it seems.

i think lankinen could easily get 5-6m on july 1 but he might take less with term before then just so he doesn't end up squeezed out again like last summer
