I guess it's acceptable then. :dunno: I get what you're saying but that shit doesn't fly for me star or no star. This one looked extra awful to me but I'm probably just out to lunch.
Nah not out to lunch at all NL

It was a poor change and he got away with it but there is a narrative in social and mainstream media feeding this let it all burn scenario and villainizing our top players for things that most teams go through at some point

They all have their flaws Miller can be better 200ft and chill out. Would be nice to give him some time and support after last year and knowing he's fighting through some issues but i get the frustrations. Optics have been bad and him supposedly being a bully have the pitch forks out. I'm gonna remain patient our social and mainstream media has a poor track record.
  1. No guarantee that Pettersson doesn't go AWOL again when the games get tough.
  2. No guarantee that Demko is capable of being a workhorse goalie that can play through injuries.
  3. No guarantee that Boeser will be back next year.
  4. Only a few years left of Quinn Hughes bargain contract before he gets paid.
The Pettersson-Miller-Demko-Boeser core had its run and I think they've demonstrated that they can't consistently hold it together long enough for a run. The only player who has really shown that he can carry the load when it matters the most is Quinn Hughes.

You would be doing Quinn Hughes a disservice trying again and again with this group. If you really want to give him the opportunity he deserves you try your best to give him a different group to work with.
Had?
Hughes? Like last years playoffs when he went goalless and had 5 ES assists through 13 games and was plus 1 in goal differential? I know he was banged up but that wasn't exactly carrying the load when your role is to provide offence and you couldn't score a single PP or ES goal

I’d be scared but it’d be kinda fun if they dealt Miller, Boeser, and Pettersson and just engine swapped this team.

Rebuilt title, minor accidents, $20K OBO
I'm not really against it and I like all three players, unlikely as it may be.

I've mentioned maybe moving boeser to Minnesota is the play to create cap space moving forward, but jtm would be pist, if you move Miller too then no issues.

In that case rolling with 1C EP for long playoff runs wouldn't be my top choice, in which case move him too, or preferably first.
Rather go with Miller and assets from ep trade for another playoffs and see what happens, we know Miller/hughes/joshua/Garland will show up ready to rock.

I suspect if you move ep for player(s) with the Hughes/miller/tocchet/Crosby compete and win above all mindset, that this teams issues might dissappear.

In any event Ruthervin has to watch the same horrible hockey we all do so we know something is going to happen sooner than later.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks are targeting a centre in any return for JT or Petey. So it’s gotten to that point

I can't believe it's actually coming to this. One or both of them are going to be off this team within the next week or two.

Alright Petey for Bedard run it

I don't think this would possibly be on that table but I'd do it.

i can see this playing out. petey miller and boeser gone. hughes debrusk garland are the new core +new additions.

They're all Benning guys. The new regime isn't married to any of them.

Astonishingly small chance Hughes re-signs if they trade both, because there's a very tiny chance it works out in our favour.

I'm pretty sure management knows how tenuous this situation is. I think it's either Miller goes, or no one goes.

They don’t need a C in a trade.

Just repeat what they did with Horvat.

But they know people will have them over a barrel.

If you trade one of them first, you have to find a C elsewhere and the cost will be exorbitant.

I think even if you start talking to other teams about acquiring a C, they know a deal may be in the works.

So path of least resistance is to get a C back.

Cozens if it’s Buffalo.

I’d bring in JPG in a deal with NYI.

Chytil with Rags.

Too much unknown beyond that.
JPG is a scrappy player, like him…but hate that contract.

Ryan Leonard is a guy I would think about moving Petey for. Future captain 40+ goal guy. Also think they might go for everything because of Ovi.

Not sure how that deal would look though. Obviously Washington adds.
I’m a Lenny guy, I’d do that trade in a heartbeat. Once his season is over at BC, he’ll be playing w the Caps and going to the playoffs w them. Kid is dynamite, a player every team would love to have…reminds me of a smaller Matty Tkachuk but better skater.

Just want the side show to end.

Choice is obvious, deal Miller he’s 31 and will regress in 2-3 years.

Get yourself a 1st rounder and a good player and move on.

End the side show. I remember this shit with Benning. The whole league laughing at the organization. Miller clearly doesn’t want to be in Vancouver. Looks like he’s given up.

This cannot keep being dragged out. Allvin needs to work some magic.

I, personally am preparing for an old fashioned hockey trade. Not expecting any futures or nor should you. Then when you get Chytil and a 3rd we won’t be disappointed…..

I think Drury wants a trade where he gets JT Miller while allowing the Canucks to keep Hoglander.

Just seems like the kind of GM who overvalues everyone on his team.

I wonder if Philadelphia is a possible trade destination. A top tier center for Michkov would be a huge get for them.

Pettersson for Luchanko, Foerster, Sanheim, and a pick

Or

Miller for Sanheim and Luchanko

This team can still be as successful as we have been (not saying much) long as Hughes is here and we don’t horribly lose the Miller and/or Boeser trades, reload with some offensive talent, and address the defense in the offseason.

Oh yeah. I hear ya. I find the wild speculation and finger pointing is at an all time high. I haven't said anything negative regarding Miller in quite a while so this is just a one off terrible bad play for me. I'm absolutely fed up with the media this season myself.

Yeah Miller can be better for sure but all players struggle at times and and have ups and downs. Everyone's losing their marbles because we're not coasting through the season this year. I agree he definitely deserves some time and support after last season where he was simply terrific. At this rate the media is trying to drive him out of town. Their performance is worse than that line change.

So if Friedman's sources mean anything, one of Miller or Pettersson is gone. Obviously the way Miller is going, he thinks it'll probably be him.

And since he'd have to waive his no movement contract to go anywhere, I'm assuming that won't be an issue.

What a sad and disappointing season so far......devastating injuries, disfunction in the dressing-room, and undoubtedly turmoil on the trade front with players coming and going.

How did it all fall apart so quickly?

It quickly came to a head about a year after Petey stopped playing well

This team has literally become a circus - WTF is management doing?

Something smarter than any of us posting here would do.

Is correct? Long-term, I think so. Short term is gonna suck, but then it'll get better.

It's the Canuck way my friend.

Buyer beware on Zac Jones but i think he'll be alright with the right coaching style. So for that I have a bit of confidence at least.

Don’t think Allvin is stupid enough to trade a borderline generational talent in EP40 but the scary thing is that dinosaur rutherford is.

Just gotta hope JT Miller is traded within this week and the lockeroom gets some harmony. At this point just take a loss if you have to in a trade.

Having Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson as your Superstar 1D and 1C is the only reason to follow this team and puts us ahead of 90% of the league.

Don’t f*** this up Allvin.

^ So so funny you should use the word borderline in that post and you don't even know it.

I didn't mean that in a rude way, it just sounds like it on the internet.

Philly makes a ton of sense, but getting Sanheim +++ is a total pipedream IMO.

Contracts matter and Sanheim @ $6.25 is as good as you're going to get for a first pair anchor who dines almost exclusively on a diet of extremely hard minutes. Big, insanely mobile, match up defenders are important pieces and teams that have them almost never let them go...especially when they're locked in LT at team friendly $$$.

Maybe they'd eat the Pettersson contract on a 1 for 1 deal if they convinced themselves he was going to get back to the level he was at for the first 60 games of last year.

I doubt Briere would do Sanheim for Miller straight up....probably not enough runway to make it work...and there's no real urgency to do something right now.

For a team and fanbase that is still haunted by Cam Neely I dont understand the hesitation here. Lets smash our own Cam Neely trade but from the opposite side.

Barry Pederson had a 116 point season at age 22/23.

Barry become injured at 23/24 and only managed 22 games with 12 points.

At 24/25 he had 76 points in 79 games and the Bruins made the decision to ship him out before his injuries became a big deal.

That offseason they shipped him off for a first the year after, and Cam Neely of course.

The first ended up being 3rd overall, and Neely became Neely.

I want whatever this new cap world 2025 equivilant is and a trade that forever pays fruit for this franchise.

Wesley was later traded for 3 firsts, one being Sergei Samsonov.

There is probably still something remaining in the Bruins org from that trade tree almost 39 years later as Lucic was one of the participants and fruits that Barry Pederson gave.

EDIT - Jakub Zboril traded for Andrew Peeke.

39 years later and they still have something for their Elias Pettersson.
