So what you're saying is every time a player leaves a team or demands a trade or becomes a UFA "wanting to win is a Platitude"
Did the Sedins Burrows Edler Miller Joshua Myers give platitudes when they re signed and could have gone to market to get more
All of them could have gone to better teams as well, they didn't. (If wanting to win was of the utmost priority)
It's odd to superimpose the rhetoric of exceptions (trade demands) onto the whole. It's similar to thinking Pettersson was going to Tkachuk out of here when what Tkachuk did was exceptional... And then Pettersson re-signs for 8 years...
