What a pathetic situation. Grow the f*** up and act like men and not children.
I would honestly have a hard sit down with them to do exactly what you just said otherwise I’m pulling the trigger on both of them and moving on.

Millers NMC would make it a little difficult, but still.

Yea with that NMC Allvin might unfortunately find himself in a Kesler-like situation. That said, a competent GM could’ve got good value out of that trade.

Merry Christmas! 🫣

The f*** does Moj know lol.

Rick Dhaliwal's interview with Halford and Brough.

Canucks Star Players
  • Last 7 goals have come from the bottom-6
  • No points from Pettersson in 5 games; Miller 2 goals in 13 games; Boeser 2 goals in 13 games; Garland no goals in 10 games
  • Boeser, Miller, & Pettersson combined for 1 shot
  • Need every player pulling on the rope in the same direction
  • Not worried about the dressing room but is about the consistency on the ice
Christmas Roster Freeze
  • Does not remember that much hype around the Christmas freeze
  • Not surprised they didn’t do anything
  • Not viewed as a big deal because very few games are played
Canucks Plans
  • Gets the sense that Bowen Byram is one of the Canucks top targets
  • A team executive told Dhaliwal that it’s hard to find a top-4 defenceman on the trade market right now; price are high and teams want top prospects
  • Lots of teams still want to make the playoffs
  • Every team in the league had interest in Kaapo Kakko
  • Gets the feeling that Jim Rutherford will not sit idle
  • Would not be surprised to see a roster shake-up in January if they continue to play inconsistently
  • Everything went right and this year is the opposite
Nils Hoglander
  • No goals in his last 26 games and 21 games without a point
  • Low confidence level
  • Agent talked to the team a few weeks ago and everyone agreed to work together to get his confidence back
  • Asked his agent if he got permission to talk to other teams or has asked for a trade and didn’t get a response
  • Has known the agent for many years
  • May be past the point of being fixable
  • Zero trade value
  • Had some extension talks with him in the summer but nothing serious
  • One of the most conditioned players in camp and wanted to set an example for other kids
  • Does not know how they could possibly move him
  • Boeser and Hoglander are the only drafted wingers on the NHL roster
  • Just looks like he’s not a Tocchet guy and compares the situation to Kuzmenko
  • Onus is on the player too; the messages have been relayed
Local Media
  • One reporter on the road trip and the Canucks didn’t even send their in-house reporter
  • Very sad reflection of the industry
  • No reporters from newspapers or radio on any road trips
  • Haven’t been able to get any answers because no reporters traveling
Practice Facility
  • Ones the Flames build their new rink, the Canucks will be the only team in the league without a practice facility
  • Was traction at UBC but there’s so much red tape

Rick Dhaliwal doesn't return his shopping cart when he's at the store. He just dumps it in the lot randomly. What a monster.

Actually, talked to my brother about this. Hughes for Bratt, top prospect and 3 unprotected 1sts, and a couple of other picks (they have 3 2nds this year) Make NJ cup favourites.

f*** no.

Hughes is untouchable. Why would we help NJ? To get some 32 overall picks? And on that note, Who cares about picks we're trying to contend.

Trade Hughes you might as well trade everyone. The team won't be good for like 5 years anyway.

The struggles of the team’s two star centres stand out, especially when Ilya Mikheyev, who the Canucks dumped on the Chicago Blackhawks over the summer, has scored as many five-on-five goals this season as Miller and Pettersson combined.

“I don’t think it’s necessarily those two particular guys mentioned that are struggling, other guys that are supposed to be top guys that are struggling too,” Allvin said.

“It’s one thing to be a star on a mediocre team. It’s one thing to be a star on a good team,” he said. “That was the message from the coach, too: embrace the hardness.”

“It’s finding the consistency every night when your expectations are higher. That’s tough. That’s how you prepare yourself. The preparation is not about being good in October, November. The preparation is about being good in February, March and April, May and June. I think that’s something new for a lot of our players,” Allvin said. “In Vancouver, for years they didn’t get into the playoffs.”

“It’s my expectation that those guys, they’re going to carry our team. If they don’t, well it’s hard to win,” he said of the likes of Miller and Pettersson — and Hughes and Boeser and Garland and DeBrusk, and so on.

“I mean, we’re always looking to see what’s out there and available,” he said as to whether he thinks he’ll need to make a trade to change up the top end of his group. “I’m always interested in making this team better.”

“At the end of the day, you are only going to go as far as your leadership group is leading,” he said. And it’s not about points, it’s about mentality.
“Look at Jake Eichel, what’s his point totals? (He’s a point per game.) But his lead is playing the right way and it’s leading them to championships,” he said.

“The fun part in pro sports is winning. When you’re playing the right way and prepare yourself and winning hockey games, everybody wants to do that.”

Why the f would you entertain trading the one guy that gives 110% every night and is the biggest difference maker / generational player on the team when there are a bunch of other head cases and slack asses that don’t do much of anything on a nightly basis?!

The problem starts with Miller, Pettersson, Boeser. Start there.

It's kind of a cherry picked stat.

He very much means ONLY 5on5, excluding goals with the goalie pulled to make it 6on5 (on either side), as well as OT (3on3) goals.

Petey has 3 on 5on5 (+ 4 PP + 1 with Canucks goalie pulled)
Miller has 1 on 5on5 (+ 1 PP + 1 with Canucks goalie pulled + 2 empty net goals + 1 OT 3on3)

Mikheyev has 4 on 5on5 (+ 1 shorty)

It's not a massive leap at this point to assume the problem starts with Miller, I don't think it's just Pettersson he's pissing off.

I agree with what Allvin is saying here.

He could definitely be looking to make a trade for a top 4 puck mover (which he should), but that's ultimately only going to be patchwork and the core issue will still remain if Miller, Pettersson, and Boeser can't get into gear and start pulling their weight.

It's not an enviable position for Allvin and Rutherford if the core forwards continue to struggle further into the season, forcing them to make some big decisions.
It’s what they get paid for. They’ve really only switched 1 core piece since they arrived with the Horvat / Hronek flip.

It’s evident that something needs to change.

I’m not saying move the entire core but I wouldn’t complain if Boeser and Miller were moved.

Hopefully Willinder turns into a core piece quickly.

You don't trade Quinn Hughes unless he asked to be traded. The best defenseman in franchise history, hell the best player in Franchise history. You dont trade these caliber of player, you build around them. You do whatever it takes to keep Hughes happy.

At this point I don't care who we trade anymore, just as long as it's not Hughes.

If Miller can fetch Cozens and Byram then I would highly consider it.

This isn’t very reassuring.

do what the 2011 flyers did. trade BOTH of them they traded jeff carter and mike richards seperately.
one bcause of cultural change and 2. the baggage they carried at the time they named claude giroux their next captain. i think he was 22/23

i like this idea but the realities of modern cap management make it pretty impossible imo
true but nothings possible if you dont try. imagine the package the nucks get back if both ep and miller are gone. get some solid pieces back with a first rounder coming back. i wonder if hoglander could be the first to go when the holiday freeze is lifted. maybe sometime in january?

Whoa! Forgot how massive those trades were! Philly probably won both deals, but LA came out of it with 2 Cups

Yep, using such conditional stat to talk down on pete and miller is unconvincing to say the least.
