Up until recently I just passed off all this talk about Pettersson and Miller, as being just the fertile imagination of the internet crowd in a hockey-mad market like Vancouver.

But lately I'm starting to seriously wonder if those two guys can co-exist on the same team. Now I just have a feeling that it would hardly be a shock if one of them was asked to waive their NTC and leave town.

And the most logical candidate is Miller.

Miller skates around looking like he wants to be moved.

@Vector

to answer your question from the previous thread,

oh, that's easy. I read the Friedman tweet a couple days ago high as f*** playing guitar, don't even worry about it. Honestly, sadly, hockey's taken a backseat to some of my other passions. I busted my knee up twice and I have a big boy job now, and I've always been an all-or-nothing kind of guy.

I think I just post here because it provides me comfort and consistency, and I believe in the community. Been here 15 years abouts, makes ME (who I still feel like the new guy cutting his teeth at 1000-2000 posts) feel old. I just watch the games now, the drama doesn't grip me like it did before, but hockey'll always be a part of me. I go to sleep thinking about formations for the powerplay. I don't think at this point, it couldn't.

Y'know what's really funny, though? I cant remember all your monikers. So I don't know how I know you, but based on the verbiage, I feel like maybe you were always the kind of poster the younger me (I hope) would just shut up and listen to, but might not have posted as often as I did in my...obsessive...days).

I wonder if there's truth to the rumors about Miller wanting out. I still don't think it's likely, but I'm a lot more willing to consider the possibility now.

If that is the case, I would bet it's not because of Pettersson specifically.
maybe multiple guys he clashes with.? tyler myers?

There’s just no one on this current team close to Schenn’s stature and veteran presence to do that, and maybe that’s something the room needs again.
vancovuer needs MORE than a schenn type player multple leaders who has won it all to deal with all these nonsense. beat miller up to a living pulp if they have to! sparring boxing 1 on 1

So is hoglander being traded> its 1148pm right now..

We've played 32 games and our only injured player is Filip Hronek right now, yet tonight..

Linus Karlsson
Nils Hoglander
Phil Di Guiseppe
Noah Juulsen
Vinny Desharnais

All played honest minutes in a NHL game for the Vancouver Canucks.

4 quarters for a couple of our dollars might be the best thing to happen to this team.

2 half dollars for a couple of our dollars could be the best thing to happen to this team.

Plus I want a revenge Cam Neely, Glen Wesley fleecing in our favor.

Seriously look up Barry Pederson and tell me thats not exactly Elias Pettersson trending.

No idea where to ask this question so I will ask it here.

Can anyone explain to me where this Miller and Pettersson stuff is coming from? I admit I watch more Oilers, Devils and Bruins games. Maybe it was me not paying attention but it seems like the last 24 hours someone poured gas on this story and the Canucks have been mum on the situation. Is there a problem between the two? Or is it a media creation? it looks like Sekeras and Price are the ones really banging on about this

I think there was already a seed planted when Miller left the team but now this week the media has alluded to it + Tocchet not playing them together on the powerplay is what has really poured gas on the fire.

I guess one simplified explanation is that Miller's leave and return to the team created a situation where Elliotte Friedman raised the whole thing, which seems to have led to a "oh my god we can talk about it now" approach from everyone else now.

The frankly bizarre choice by the coach to break them up on the PP has just created more fuel, as has EP being pointless since Miller's return, although that is of course luck based and nothing to do with Miller, but the reality EP going pointless creates more fuel

That is why you don't trade away stars because you never ever get back something close. Especially in a cap world. I thought I did pretty good. :(

Got potential top 6 winger (ohgren) potential top 6 center in (Danielson).
2 current top 6's in Zacha, Compher.
2 middle 6er's in Frederic, Rasmussen and a potential middle 6 in Kulich.

Van will have 3 first round picks this year. Plus a shit ton of cap room for next year.

Most absolutely definitely a lean year or two but after that the locker room problems should be no more.

It's weird that the entire fanbase is picking a side here, I'm kind of tired of both of them.

I don't think you can win with either at this point, which means we've effectively wasted our time with Quinn Hughes and will likely have to trade him for a King's Ransom before he walks to New Jersey as a free agent.

All of this is Jim Benning's fault.

This is a failure on coaching and management (possibly even on Hughes' leadership abilities) to not nip this in the bud earlier and risk it torpedoing their season. If these two guys have beef and can't coexist, and from all indications they can't, then it needs to be addressed....understandably, when you have to make a franchise altering move, you need to have ownership support and you have to make sure you make the best deal (and choose the right person to keep and right one to move), all these things take time, but this should have been addressed earlier if it was even a glimmer of a possibility.

thats tank level stuff for this and next years draft.
That's right. Team would then be looking for a 1Lc and at least 1 Lw. 1 2lw in the next two drafts. Should be able to appropriate enough to find another defender and cap space to add a vet D.

Miller gonna be on his 4th team soon 😂

I seriously think he's been calling out Pettersson in front of the entire team for months now, which led to the fight at practice. Explains why his game improved when Miller took an absence, and has immediately gone cold since his return.

At the end of the day, you don't have to like your coworkers to produce. Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters have zero relationship outside of the studio. Shaq and Kobe despised each other.

The guy is too abrasive to work in a team environment.
Most of us don't really know what he is like as a person. To me, he's a player you want on your team and your side. He wants to win and he's willing to the best of his ability most of the time. He may not be a top 20 player in the league but he's gonna give those players on the other team a hard time.

He's 31 years old though, I don't think he's gonna mature all that much anymore.

Hate the idea that this team is about to give up more futures to try and squeeze into the playoffs.

Colorado has passed Vancouver and the team is barely holding onto 8th. Can’t see anyone above them falling out.

Utah has won 7/10 and looks poised to pass the Canucks as well. They also have cap space and a shit ton of futures they can deal to upgrade.

I just can’t stomach this team moving assets again when they aren’t nearly as good as last year. Why not sell a few pieces off and make sure the defense is upgraded before next year?

Would love Boeser, Suter and Lankinen to be sold off for a haul. Could easily acquire a 1st and several other good pieces.

I like Boeser but he’s replaceable.

I'm there with you. The year isn't going well, sell off parts on players that are doing well. Team re-signed Joshua in the off season only to get another version in Sherwood for half the price.
