I think that's from the episode when Homer went to town on them Guatemala insanity peppers right?

There are some hockey youtubers who are straight up trash, over analyzing and turning things into click bait sensations.

It's one thing to just talk about things on a board like this, but when you make a video and spread such inflammatory rumors...the situation already makes people feel uneasy, and these clowns are pouring gasoline on the fire attempting to benefit themselves from the chaos, while other teams' fans point and laugh at the spectacle.

I don't remember who reported it, but it was 100% out there somewhere back around the time Aquilini was having emergency dinners with EP because his play was so bad.
As I recall that dinner was because the team/management had been crap for so long there was concern Pettersson wanted out. Please correct me if I'm wrong. There may have been other dinners.

At this point given the circumstances it’s hard to imagine we would “win” any trade involving Pettersson, but if this discourse continues it is going to be a huge distraction. Best case scenario is that we string together a handful of wins so that management can make a decision while not under duress and hopefully with some leverage.

If the Canucks trade Pettersson and don't get an elite player back, that'll be the end of any chance this team is a contender.

At the time, it was mostly framed in the media from what I recall as the owner sitting down with the player to see where his head was at because his play had been so poor. And yeah, if he wanted out, what the deal was. It was an unusual occurrence, in the middle of a terrible stretch of play from the player.

I vaguely recall that somebody walking along Robson Street spotted Aquilini through a restaurant window dining with Hughes and Pettersson, and another player, maybe the team captain Horvat or somebody.

It was during a time when the Canucks were in another freefall, and speculation was mounting about Green's coaching or the future of the front office. There was a lot of comment on these boards about the owner meddling once again. And Benning was asked about it, but shrugged it off as usual.

Feel safe in saying that a dinner between the players and the owner about the state of the team hasn't happened, and probably never will, now that Allvin and Rutherford are in the executive booth.

Today I learned that a star forward on our team is choosy about his linemates. His linemates going into last year's playoffs were Ilya Mikheyev and Nils Hoglander. This is supposed to make sense.

Some of you guys need to examine your biases and check your sources. (Hint, Sekeres never, ever knows shit about anything.) Seriously. I get he looks at times like a paralyzed ostrich out there. But that doesn't excuse believing the worst version of what you read/half remember and the repeating it as truth.

And I said the same thing about Miller - the only star player on this team who has actually been benched this season, by the way.

See below.
I'm failing to see how my posts weren't respectful. MS made a claim i asked him about it, he answered, I replied questioning his stance. Nothing heated.

I don't think you can make a claim like that and not back it up. With how polarizing Pettersson is in this market even a little off hand comment would have some evidence of it happening. Someone would have posted about it etc.

I remember it differently, but too lazy to look it up. Can't imagine anyone would call in Aquilini to talk about a player's performance, though. Makes no sense to me, though to be fair little does about the Benning years.

Tocchet even said in last seasons year end, about Pettersson not complaining who he played with, and how he wanted him to feel comfortable coming into Tocchet's office and asking for more, asking for better linemates (I'm paraphrasing). Pettersson just kept his head down and played with his revolving (and revolting) list of linemates.

Well we're all talking about it:

Nov. 20th. Jim Benning & Co. Fired Dec. 5th.

The team came out flat, ownership meet with some of the young stars about the direction of the team.

Sure doesn't seem too high maintenance to me, given the crap he's had to play with over the years, but what do I know. I'm obviously inclined to believe the best, as, unlike some others, I still like the player.

It was more about quoting of a deleted post. We’re just trying to clean up the thread. It was about to get out of hand in a very nasty way.
