Braden Schneider Stats, Profile, Bio, Analysis and More | New York Rangers | Sports Forecaster van needs hhim badly but rangers wont give him up that easily.

Would love Schneider to be paired with Hughes. Moving Hronek down to the second pairing to eventually play with Willander. Schneider would give Hughes the mobility to do whatever he likes in the offensive zone. Schneider is a great skater himself. Too bad he's not available he would be the perfect partner for Hughes.

Never doubt Jordan Schmaltz.

Hronek is a much better player than Schneider and both Hronek and Willander play the right side.

If the price for Miller is so low, I would just hold onto him until the summer. These low ball prices will get a bit more desperate in the offseason. There should be atleast one player in the Miller deal that the Canucks can build around moving forward. Kotkieniemi, Roslovic, Chytil, or Lindgren are not these players.

Chytil, KAM, 1st would now be acceptable with the garbage proposals we've seen offered by NHL gm's who know the Canucks are in a bind. Hopefully Allvin waits them out, the proposals will get better with time and GMs get a little more desperate to win.

Does everyone have a Vancouver source in our dressing room?

I’d say this Spittin Chiclets pod is just doing it for attention, but I don’t think I’ve seen Bissonnette making stuff up before
*edit: I got to the part in the pod where Bissonnette called garland a midget so I now refuse to believe the moron

Friedman said the same. He said one source said he asked for a trade but he had another source saying he didnt. So it's been out there.

It definitely explains why that rumored Rangers offer was so shitty. If Miller has asked for a trade, his reputation is questionable, and everyone knows the Canucks want to trade him but he will only waive for one or two locations, we're going to get massively ripped off. There's no other way this realistically goes down.

Just an absolute piss poor mishandling of this from upper management. They've painted themselves into a corner by not keeping a tight lid on things. It's not a situation that can be salvaged by sitting tight and being patient - if they wait this out, they risk things really turning ugly and Miller potentially refusing to report.

Unfortunately, the only path that might make sense is for them to publicly keep making amends with Pettersson, and moving him close to the deadline to a team with LTIR space that wants the big name to help put them over the top. We would get much better value for Pettersson because we can trade him anywhere that can make the numbers work, although it will likely result in us taking back cap hits.

This could only happen to the Canucks. We have a generationally talented defenceman who is well on his way to multiple Norris trophies, and our two 90-100 point forwards can't put their differences aside. If this has shown me anything, it's that team chemistry is more important than any other metric. These guys have massive egos and if the coaching staff/front office can't keep them in check, this is what can happen.

I've seen enough of this core to know they aren't going to get it done.

Who was it that reported that teams had been allowed to talk to him? It would seem like they are trying to figure out whether his problems are Canucks related or are going to travel with him.

It's a revelation though that he has such a bad reputation around the league. I suppose they can see and hear things at ice level that we just can't.

Again, this most recent non-productive streak you can actually see some effort plays from Pettersson. At times. His 3rd period last night was noticeably better than the first 40 minutes.

Down the stretch last season and the start of this season the guy looked like a zombie going through the motions on the ice. It was pathetic. And same deal in the first half of 21-22. And same deal at the start of 20-21.

Well you are free to see it how you want. Very harsh for a 25 year old with his record. I don't see a lack of effort at all. I see a younger player struggling, like many do in his situation, to meet the incredible expectations of a rabid fanbase, his own goals, the NHL spotlight, and a serious coaching staff.

Regardless, I can't say enough about how this would be classic deflection. Sounds exactly like little children's complaints, "but you didn't spank Jimmy, and he did the same thing". :pout: This should not be about any player except JT himself. I personally don't believe this is the cause of everything ... but if it is he's a complete f#K8ng baby, a total goof, and a pathetic bitch. We can't move on soon enough if that's the case. That would be the ultimate sad joke if that's the issue.

On my tally board the Myers cross check is slightly more boneheaded than the McDavid one. McDavid’s was more “in the moment“ and was the result of an absolutely masterful pest job by noted irritant Garland. Myers’s was well after the whistle and was a response to that non-entity Evan Bouchard skating towards him in slow motion. Myers wins the bonehead prize and — ha ha! — they both get 3 games. I’ll take it.
Quoting myself just to add: Myers's interview about the incident was pitch perfect. Very likeable guy, whatever you think of his on-ice performance.

Oh well that's just fantastic for his trade value then...

This is legit getting to the point of fireable. It's ridiculous just how poorly they've handled this situation, and if it were a one off, I'd be willing to say "lessons learned." It isn't.

I think this management team has earned the benefit of the doubt in deciding whether the dressing room dynamic is tenable or not. If they think trading Miller is the only option, I believe them.

While I agree, at least in theory. The way it's been handled may well have completely tanked his value to the point trading him isn't a reasonable option any longer because we won't be able to compete.

Remember when Garland asked for a trade at the start of last season, and didn't like it in Vancouver? Winning solves all problems. Unless the situation is so untenable that Hughes is saying "get this dude out," the Canucks can't afford to trade Miller for less than they dealt to get Lindholm last year.

Every time he's been on the block it's always been "well there's only 1.5 more years on the deal," or "he's 30+ now," and "his contract won't age well." The offers have always been shit too - the Rangers 3 years ago weren't willing to deal Schneider and a 1st (who over the last 3 seasons has been a 4/5 guy) for what amounted to an 80-100 point powerforward smack in the middle of his prime (half of which would've been at 5.25 million).

Even in a year where everyone's mad at him, he's still roughly a PPG forward who's shown to thrive in the big moments. If he was on another team last year when we were near the top of the standings, he would've been the first guy management was looking to acquire over Lindholm/Guentzel, and they absolutely would've given up a 1st + Lekk + Roster player to do it.

I'm not saying they have to win the trade, but these offers of Chytil + 1st are pathetic. It would be like the Wings two years ago offering Suter + 1st, except Suter is on a 4 million+ contract and one hit away from retirement. Trading Miller for what Ben freaking Chariot got 3 years ago is asinine unless again, its so toxic that your franchise player says get him out ASAP.
