lindgren is also an expiring ufa. that would be an absolutely horrendous return.

hopefully drance has no idea what he is talking about.

Would rather die.

Maybe ownership scuttled that terrible return, probably one of the only times I can remember I'd approve of Aquilini meddling.

It's going to be Chytil or KAM with a bunch of sub par picks and prospects. I think regardless the Miller trade is going to turn out to be one huge disappointment for Canuck fans.
It was definitely Chytil and KAM if Friedman is correct. I'd rather just take Lindgren rather than Chytil since Lindgren is an expiring contract. With KAM's likely next contract in the ~4-4.5M range, it frees up 3M to use more productively, say in a side deal to acquire a younger C for Boeser and free up some more cap there.

I don't think it actually matters if you have a problem with it lol wth is wrong with people in this market
right? what a clown comment. My buddy spoke with Miller a few days ago and he is definitely being traded. He has spoke to other teams already. Why would he be attending a charity event to be a distraction. It would have been selfish if he had shown up.

makes you wonder about the hughes family diet over time.

Maybe this is close to the mark, but I feel like the Hughes' might have been more financially well-off than mine.

So, I have two younger brothers. The last has more of a gap than us elders. I don't know why God makes the oldest the smallest, but did those routine beatings sure come back to haunt me. I was definitely the pickiest eater, I wouldn't eat meat other than chicken. Honestly though, we were very British-Canadian. Almost no seasoning was ever used until we escaped the lower-middle class, by that time I was already well into school and was chock full of my own energy. I would relay my diet to teachers and would be puzzled when they said I was malnourished. I mean, I barely ever ate. I think for a good while it was a bowl of cereal, PB&J, then whatever we ate for dinner.

Now I'm 5'8", middle is 5'11", youngest is 6 feet even. I'm wiley though...wiley coyote.

if we are in sub-mark stone territory on trade return then let's keep him at least until after the four nations cup where he could significantly boost his trade value.

At a minimum, the deal should be Chytil, KAM + unprotected 1st.

I understand they want Chytil to be a 2C. Great when he's playing but his career could be done any game.

KAM projects as a young Top 4 dman and could slot nicely into the mix with Hughes, Hronek and Willander.

Unprotected 1st would give mgmt more assets to do a subsequent deal (possibly Byram?), wait till the offseason for a larger deal or refill the prospect pool.

It's not great but better than the crap that was apparently almost a done deal.
do you understand how trades work?

If that offer is true, mgmt must be thinking of flipping two of those pieces elsewhere:

1. Chytil - keep because his cap is below $5M and can play C
2. Lindgren - likely a flip at the TDL. With so many tams in the mix and being a pending UFA, possible to obtain a 2025 1st given teams believe it's a weak draft
3. 1st - could use in another deal to obtain a dman (Byram)

If gives them assets to play with and more cap flexibility.

I still don't like it though.

I wonder if there's more going on behind the seasons than we know (probably) that makes the Brain Trust feel that they need to do this quickly, rather than waiting for the best possible return.

It's just terrible though. If he's being a distraction, healthy scratch him until 4 Nations, then healthy scratch him again until the deadline if necessary. Suspend him if the behaviour is bad enough. They already proved in November that they can win without him. Give him the tough love that he seems to need.

I actually really doubt his behaviour is that egregious though, because if it was they wouldn't be trotting him out to speak to the media.

As a parent of four children, I can tell you it's largely just genetic chance and they can be all over the place.

I wish it wasn't, but it IS. It's like they rid of all the yips with me. I love my brothers, though. Half the shit I've gone thru I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy, let alone my brothers.

I was an excellent endurance runner as a kid, there's gotta be a metaphor for that.
