Imagine being able to trade Soucy, a 1st, and Hoglander for Filip Forsberg. That's how stupid this is.

Yeah, Lindgren sucks (and is a soon to be UFA). There has to be more going on behind the scenes if they were willing to accept that package. Can also see how the conditions on the first were critical as that would be the most important piece by far.

I expected some sort of Chytil, salary, prospects / picks thing, and given what’s going on and the context, it kind of is what it is.

The restrictions on that pick probably f***ed everything up. They definitely were going to Hronek that pick.

Without having that option, it’s legit just spare parts. With the lack of protections, there’s a chance it’s interesting as a chip.

Yikes. I rather keep Miller if that's the best offer on the table. Chytil a injury prone centerman who is one good hit away from a career ending injury. Lindgren a defenseman who Rangers fans are quite often pissed at. This is a truly awful proposal that will lose us Quinn Hughes in the near future

If they take that garbage offer (or something close to it) then this is 100% on mgmt.

They have royally f***ed this season up on a multitude of levels and this would just make the team worse going forward.

Hopefully they know better but the train seems to have left the station already.

Just waiting to see if it arrives safely or crashes through the railing.

I haven’t looked at the rangers board yet, but I’d bet they’re probably unhappy about this rumoured deal too because they’re not moving Zib or Kreider’s salaries.

So both teams fanbases hate it, but without the unprotected first, there’s probably no upside for us

JT Miller doesn't have much trade value. They were never going to get that great of a package back. I don't really know what people expected here.

If they're trading him, it's because you just want him out of the dressing room.

At a minimum, the deal should be Chytil, KAM + unprotected 1st.

I understand they want Chytil to be a 2C. Great when he's playing but his career could be done any game.

KAM projects as a young Top 4 dman and could slot nicely into the mix with Hughes, Hronek and Willander.

Unprotected 1st would give mgmt more assets to do a subsequent deal (possibly Byram?), wait till the offseason for a larger deal or refill the prospect pool.

It's not great but better than the crap that was apparently almost a done deal.

If that's the best they can do, we really need to win a couple games here, pull Miller off the market, and make a statement that they're working it out (even if they aren't).

At least the reports are nothing is imminent, so hopefully we don't end up with a garbage package like that.

I would hope there is more to it than that....Chytil and Lindgren can make the "money in-money out" work, they get a center (albeit underwhelming) back, a UFA defenseman they can probably flip at the deadline, and a 1st rounder...i would have expected a reasonable prospect as well....and even that is kinda meh. I'm wondering at this point if Miller has quietly Kesler'd us and the Rangers know it.

Value hinged on the pick. Probably had plans to flip the 1st ala Hronek trade.
