Given this management signed him to a huge extension and this coach seems to love him, something has to have happened that has made keeping him not an option.

Because the team clearly has no interest in keeping him, because he signed a eight year contract and they want to trade him

Because of all the drama that’s came from this season, because he got told last night that a deal was probably gonna happen and I never did, and he has not requested a trade.

He controls it because of the no trade clause only, everything else and all the noise, it seems like it’s mismanagement.

Constantly lowballing Allvin because the options are slim. Hopefully Miller gave a list of teams that he's willing to go to instead of just one.

He could end this by saying "I signed here long term because I want to be a Vancouver Canuck, I have a NMC and I plan on exercising it, I don't want to go anywhere.". He hasn't said that, which means he is likely open to the idea of going elsewhere and his agent is probably working with management to facilitate a move to a few select teams of the Miller family's choosing. I don't think he's pissed off.

It's ridiculous because this whole thing started in the summer of 2022 when JT Miller trade rumors were leaked. It was well known that management (Castonguay) was very high on Lafreniere and wanted him.

Then you had Miller becoming the center of issues including an in-game heated incident with Luke Schenn in the early part of the 2022/23 season and more trade rumors ensued.

Every rumor from a credible (I use this term loosely) source has continued to link Miller to New York. It's just weird. It does seem like he's perpetually wanted to go back to New York and this management group didn't really want to keep Miller.....why the f*** did they not trade him sooner, and why the f*** did he sign a retirement contract?

No chance on hell we make playoffs without Miller that's why I've been an advocate to hold onto him until we can find a centre more suitable or else this franchise is going back into the dark ages. Pettersson will be completely exposed, if you think it's bad now..

Maybe, but Bichsel is more ready than any of the LHD the Canucks have. Could very likely slot in on the 2nd pairing with Willander.

Who knows if he's any more ready than Kudryavtev (who i believe will get some games this year) but Bichsel was given 8 games of soft minutes in Dallas and his share of SC/HDSC/XGF was FUGLY. there is no way on gods green earth he and Willander are ready for 2nd pair min.
