He is probably thinking of M4, because that's the only free sports channel, as it's provided by the government.

To be honest, even M4 I only found after the game... do they show hockey?

I live in the UK where there's no hockey on TV at all but currently I am visiting family in Slovakia (on the Hungarian border) ... they don't pay for any TV channels as they can't really afford it and don't need it, most games I am interested in are broadcasted on the main Slovak TV (which always shows the IHWC games), but this and another Hungarian game were not on as they chose to show the russians instead (for some weird reason which I will never get) so I just went through all available Hungarian channels I could find and did not find the game on any of them live..

Sport1 has the rights to IHWC, but M4 covers it in reports. The friendlies in preparation of the WC were on M4 and M4 covers the home games of Székesfehérvár as well as the MOL League. Sport1 has more hockey though, as they have the rights to the NHL and IHWC.

That's what I mean... I have seen reports but not the live games... my family don't have Sport1 just the M4

I think this championship - at least when your team made the top division - should be on the main free channels not just available to those who can pay for extra...

Well, M4 is a new channel that started airing in January, Sport1 has had the rights for more than a decade now. I prefer them having it as they show a lot of other games, if M4 had it, only the Hungarian games would be aired.

Maybe next year they'll take over as they have the rights of pretty much every NT game in every sport, but I won't be happy about it.

Well, M4 is a new channel that started airing in January, Sport1 has had the rights for more than a decade now. I prefer them having it as they show a lot of other games, if M4 had it, only the Hungarian games would be aired.

Maybe next year they'll take over as they have the rights of pretty much every NT game in every sport, but I won't be happy about it.

To be honest I didn't mean to take over the rights....... maybe share them for championships like these when you make the top division...... even if only show the Hungarian games on the free channel in addition to the Sport1... show the rest only on sport1..

I'm also in Slovakia right now (Filakovo/Fulek) and watched the game online from a Slovak feed. Was at a house party and a friend of mine streamed it from his phone.
