Sad for German hockey. Playing well and nobody cares.
I'm a big Draisaitl fan and want to watch at work but there are NO legal streams it seems. IIHF Youtube is geo-blocked.

Ehm, this is a forum primarily aimed for North Americans. I'd imagine there to be more talk on some German hockey forum.
While the attendance in the DEL is very high the media presence is pretty small.
I would say:
Football
Handball
Basketball/Hockey/American Football
Sure but for the country with the 3 most population in this tournament ist still pretty low attandance. Maybe my neighbours the Czechs, have more in this thread as Germans.
American Football? Lol.
You get one game NHL per week on a big channel. You get one game a week if you are lucky of DEL on a sports channel. There is almost no TV coverage of hockey in Germany. WC and Olympics, that's it. Sad, but true.
Have you ever read a word about American Football in a newspaper or something, though?

Here I am. How many posts do I have to make to show the hockey world that Germany does care?
I read my news online mostly but I doubt it. That's true.
About 500k (peak 700k) people have seen the game vs. Canada yesterday..Anyone know the viewer ratings for the German games?
I mean, you have a point. If you want to watch it, it's probably easier to do that and of course there's a lot of hype about the Super Bowl every year but it's not regularly presented to the average German.
I think my hometown has an American Football team (or used to? Or used to, and has one again?) that played in something like the second league but I couldn't even tell you if it still exists. The DEL team is covered regularly in the local media, though.
