Honestly pretty much what i expected of them Bob Hartley is a damn good coach. They always play a smart game, in the end the gap in talent for Switzerland was too much to handle for them though.

Unfortunately, I cant imagine a scenario with how Switzerland is screwing up this situation. Austria is nowhere around Swiss team. Eventually, they still can get more points with stronger teams like Czechs or Sweden. This game was a most important for Latvia in terms of quarterfinals...

Was wondering about that too, definitely a bad call IMO.

Anyway, game could have gone either way, Switzerland better five on five but Latvia had better special teams. Just had my dad on the phone and the first thing he said was that Latvia would have deserve at least a point. Respect to you guys, I'm going to Bratislava next weekend and I'm looking forward to see your fans rock the place.

Switzerland with smooth combinations and cleverness, but Latvia proved to be a tough opponent and put on a great fight. Great, intense game from both teams! Latvia really need to capitalize on those PP chances, if they want to beat top 6+1 teams.

Must be a sigh of relief for the Swiss. They are a kind of team which can in one year make to the final of whc and in another year fail to make it to the QFs.

They beat a great Sweden, destroyed Norway. Czechs are almost like a home team in Bratislava, have a more than 10 NHL players (include Palat, Voracek), another one is coming (Faksa). This team is clearly favourite for medals. IMO they will not have any trouble with Latvia. It is how it is.

Im just being a realist. Too bad some people interpret that as "weak". Whatever, this was a make or brake game for us and we broke. Thats fine, you cant win em all.
