It must've been all luck then, that we got a silver last year and two of them in the past five years, while you guys have reached the quarter finals last year, after missing it for 7-8 straight World Championships?
We are better than we were 5 years ago. Our best generation in history (94-97) has entered pro hockey and is peaking, while our old guard players are still alive and kicking.

I never said the Swiss are bad

According to the Finnish play-by-play guy Tomi Tuominen Nico Hischier is the first ever Swiss first-round draft pick.

Puck moving on the PP again terrible. Fischer should change the units up when Andrighetto arrives...

A quality hockey match with a lot of speed, good passing, physicality, heavy checks, some nice scoring chances. Also, both teams with good transition game.

A couple of lucky saves on both sides, but pretty damn even so far

The Swiss are a bit passive, Josi has been underwhelming, Hischiers line seems to be overplaying their shifts

I never said that the Latvians are bad either. Hartley has them play hard too. I am just saying that if Latvians and Swiss each play at 100% of their capacity, out of 100 games, Switzerland probably wins 65 and Latvia 35.

And this with players like Maier, Niederreiter and Andrighetto missing.

Well, we're missing about a dozen players.

65 vs. 35 sounds pretty close to the truth, I'd go for 60 vs. 40, but yes.

Yes Meier would be fantastic, he has such a great season. Nino is also missing! But to be fair, latvia is a strong opponent as excpected and the swiss has a lot of room to improve their game. Hischier had a few good moves, but josi need to step up his game

How is Latvia looking tonight? I am rooting for them. Hopefully they can make upset. It would be nice plot twist in fight for quartefinals if they can win this one.

Switzerland only won 6 out of 19 bullies in the first period, in the second it looks probably even worse.
