They're just examples of lesser teams who are still able to hold their own against each other, and to a very small extent some of the stronger nations. I don't think Korea is at that levelThose are some odd comparisons![]()
'Wait arent Koreans playing Denmark too?
I don't think there should be a mercy rule, but I think they really have to consider letting a team like Korea participate. They're way behind even countries like Denmark and Switzerland
'
Yup. Tomorrow afternoon (I've got tickets!)
They're definitely no where near the level of Denmark and in particular Switzerland. There are far more obvious teams to compare South Korea with at this tournament, like Belarus and Austria. They're just examples of lesser teams who are still able to hold their own against each other, and to a very small extent some of the stronger nations. Id say they are lightyears behind Denmark, and even further behind the Swiss. They're just examples of lesser teams who are still able to hold their own against each other, and to a very small extent some of the stronger nations. I don't think Korea is at that level
That's how they scored the first goal on us.Wait really? I dont remember that? Was that us?![]()
Id say they are lightyears behind Denmark, and even further behind the Swiss.
I think id say they are behind the usual promoting/demoting teams like Austria, Slovenia, Italy - Those are probably the countries id use.
That's the plan. I kinda wish I could have gone to a game that offered more of a challenge, but it was my only chance to go to Herning this year. Seeing (hopefully) lots of Danish goals sounds like it might be good fun though.Cool! Youll get to see Danes blowing out lil kims![]()
Yeah fair enough. I just hope that it doesn't have a detrimental effect on morale for the fans and players to see them outclassed so badly. Growing the game is important and I don't think that seeing them get dominated is very good for thatThey won their promotion spot fair and square. The fact that they got promoted was quite an upset though.
Exactly my point, they are well behind even some teams in div1.Full Slovenian team with Muršak and Kopitar would probably beat this team quite comfortably.
Yeah good point. They do look totally out of place thoughThey're definitely no where near the level of Denmark and in particular Switzerland. There are far more obvious teams to compare South Korea with at this tournament, like Belarus and Austria.
Poland even got relegated from div1 this year. Slovenia weren't really close to being promoted either. Are some of the older div1 teams regressing since Korea and next year GB have been promoted? If as some say GB are worse than Korea, oh boy...
How can they promote over teams like Slovenia, Kaz, Hungary, Poland?

after this game i start play NHL18 USA vs poland/UK/italia or something like thatThis is like playing NHL18 on rookie difficulty.
They actually lost 7-4 to a Danish nt of mostly domestic league players.. crazy..It's looking a bit bleak. They would probably prefer to be back in the Division I at this point to be honest.

To be fair, Korea's roster was rather experimental in that tournament as well, Dalton didn't play a second. They actually lost 7-4 to a Danish nt of mostly domestic league players.. crazy..
Well whatta ya know..Poland even got relegated from div1 this year. Slovenia weren't really close to being promoted either.
Well whatta ya know..
That is weird..
Poland looked much better when they were promoted a few years back..

Yep. In 2009 they were still playing on the same level as South Africa and Mexico.15-20 years ago South Korea was getting stomped by the likes of Japan. Now they are getting stomped but it's by Canada/USA/etc. Clearly still a step or three behind even the 2nd tier teams, but they've proven themselves at the 15-25 range of ranked teams so this is a good lesson for them. Yes this team is still more of a 1A/1B tweener team that had a nice run last year to gain promotion, but they've come a LONG way from where they were. This is their first time in the top division, it's a good lesson. It might be another 10+ years before they are back, but it is something to strive for the program. I think it will likely be more motivating than detrimental.
