I was under the impression that a lot of the stars were at odds with the Hockey Federation over corruption allegations and bad politics, is this still the case? Is that a possible reason they didn't go?

Nope, the boycott is over and still, there are no stars anymore with the exception of Hossa and he is getting closer and closer to ending his career.

You got lucky that Italy stopped taking their foreigners which was got you promoted last season.

You'll be back in IA for the next five years buddy.
Duuuude, you're so meannn, how could you say something like that!?!?!?!? Hungary is going to stay up duhhh... :help:

Maybe. Maybe not.
The way you are playing right now, and with your player developement, you will be there too. Glorious days are over, my friend. :)

Ermm, although we do suck, I don't think so
Remember when me and the Latvian host made the case for the Latvia vs. Slovakia argument? Well now me and the Hungary host will make the argument for Hungary vs. Slovakia.

Hungary's top U16 player might make the Slovakian U16 team (big might).

Yeah the Slovaks aren't getting relegated any time soon. But they need to get their **** together like right now.

I'm loving the passion from the Hungarian fans, nothing wrong with that. But there certainly is some hyperbole there.

Hopefully the Hungarians stay up, but they'll need to pull off some wins here or they are getting sent right back down.

Can you give a quick rundown of how that was all cleared up? Is the program going in a better direction now?

I think we all knew we will be relegated this year, especially with the situation with France and Germany (which is kind of ridiculous but nevermind), and we are fine with it. This is a learning process and we are at the very beginning of something good, we just got to be patient.
With the way we are playing and developing, I'm pretty sure we will be up here soon, maybe even two years from now. I'm not worried at all, we are trending upward, Slovakia on the other hand........

I wish you guys all the best and all, and its nice seeing you in the main tournament but 2 years is very optimistic, I'd be surprised if you guys were a mainstay in 10 years.

I hope you guys are back right away, that was a special moment against Canada. Your fans stole the show, even our NHL guys appreciated the passion you brought. Phenomenal moment at the end when you sang the national anthem to them.

The Hungarian team battled hard and played physical in the corners. You guys played a tough style of game that Canadian fans will always appreciate. Hopefully hockey continues to grow and becomes really popular in Hungary.

The feeling I get with Hungary fans (not just on HF but also other forums in Hungarian) is that being new to the top, they don't understand how hard it is to actually get to the top and how much more work and development it will take. Many other countries are rising, and the rate at which Slovakian PD is "falling" would be considered rising quickly not only by Hungarian standards but even say by Slovenian standards.

Players and the president of Slovak ice hockey federation found a mutual agreement that a congress should be held at some point until June 2016 and then, new election under adjusted conditions should take place. So hopefully, we are going to get rid of Nemecek.

Your u20s were in Division 2A this year... Come on now.

OK, one question: according to Eliteprospects, coach Ciger has not had a job since 2011. How is then possible that he was appointed as a Slovakian head coach? A bit unusual. The common thing is that coaches prove themselves before advancing to such an important role (which being a national team head coach certainly is) Maybe he did prove himself, but long ago...

Either way, bad performances by Slovakia. I placed a bet on them today... Lesson learned! :D

He was coaching underprivileged kids. Noble, absolutely. Worthy of national coach job? Ummm.... NO. Only reason why he got asked in the first place was because the boycott was happening I think

Also, don't forget some of the top Belarus players are actually Canadian.

Perhaps Slovakia might want to naturalize some North Americans

The nature of player development differentials is like this. Hungary's best U16 players, so good he played on Hungary's U18 team and scored 2 goals, would be a 4th liner on the Austrian U16 team. Similarly, Austria while "rising" would probably place no more than 4 or 5 players on "falling" Slovakia's U16 team (ex. Payr over Turan). Hungary can lose somewhat respectably by playing the equivalent of 11 men in the 22 yard box soccer, but the gap between being able to lose respectably to other nation's makeshift WC teams and being able to beat them is a lot more work than some realize.

According to some Slovak media, there was huge brawl between players after second period in cabine. Especially between Reway, Dano and Bakos (yes our first line, and yes we played without changes in lines in third period. Ciger was great player but as the coach.. ).

Martin Reway is always somewhere doing a Johnny Manziel impression...
