It's amazing what has happened to Slovak hockey in the past few years.
We have so few half-decent hockey nations as it is and so to see one of the former competitors fall off the map is quite disheartening.

Slovakia can beat USA students
Yes, I root for them almost as much as I root for my own country. It's sad to see this happen year after year. Fire everyone.
We don't go into these tournaments expecting our players to show up. It would honestly be better for us to get relegated so that we get a wake up call.

Notwithstanding the bet they just made me lose, I feel this way too...
Not too long ago they had an amazing offense with the likes of Demitra, Hossa, Gaborik, Handzus, Bondra, Satan, Stumpel, Palffy, Zednik...
Chara was the only half-decent dman there, but still... they could do some damage. Now they have decent goalies, but that's it... I mean, didn't they lose to Slovenia in Sochi?

Slovakia won't be relegated, and this game pushed Belarus one step away from relegation as well. You had to know from watching Belarus play only the best teams to begin that they were better than their record showed.

Those USA students are a very good team. Finland had really tough time with them. Of course Slovaks can beat them. But they're underdogs against USA.
I wish to see HEART in next games by the Slovaks. I know they're nation that has that, they should play with heart more. They can't have "a day at the office" and win these days, unless some year they hit all NHLers.
Maybe if you build 40 more rinks and make a pipeline through the Czech hockey system?
By "some decades" I meant three decades or so. American football has definitely been more prominent for a longer period in the American society, even if baseball used to be the nation's favorite pastime.

I was under the impression that a lot of the stars were at odds with the Hockey Federation over corruption allegations and bad politics, is this still the case? Is that a possible reason they didn't go?
