Germany with a deserved 3-1 lead. No excuses. Slovaks just didn't show up, too slow, like if they each had extra weight on their skates.

I really hope that some NHL team takes a close look at Kahun. I think he can play at that level.

Honestly what has happened to Slovakia? No more great prospects nothing that compares to what they had in the late 90s or early 00s.. Are the kids playing football or PS4 etc? This must be the biggest drop in talent ever for one country in 10 or so years..

Hopefully we will drop to B group soon. Maybe it will bring Slovak hockey to life because its dead.

I would not have thought that it would be that lopsided. Apart from the first period, Germany was really better.

Gonna be interesting to see if they can build up some momentum despite a possible beating from canada on thursday. This years team USA, Hungary and Belarus are beatable.
Kahun is so much fun to watch. REALLY good player imo.
How is he undrafted? Crazy with all the speed and skillz he has.
edit: Looking at his stats... pretty good for a 20-year old in Germany:
Regular season: 12g/22a in 42 games.
Playoffs: 3g/9a in 14 games.

Kahun was really impressive. His style reminds me Cervenka from the Czech Republic.
Slovakia team was... not impressive. Completely turned off after the first period. It will be a really tough battle for that quaterfinal spot between Slovakia and Germany.

Kahun was great in the WJC 2014, one of the best players in the entire tournament. How he wasn't drafted is beyond me. The guy has top 6 upside and the potential to be very useful on the power play.
Breakout season in the DEL this season and now looking great in the WC. I hope he earns a NHL contract somewhere but I doubt it as he probably continues to go overlooked. Sadly.
I feel sick after this game. Germany played well of course but Slovakia botched up this game. Even Hungary would beat us today. Well I hope yesterday will show up another Slovakia. That one from sunday game. That could be enough to beat Belarus.

Of course we don't, but it's not like there are that many better players left, most of them are close to retiring (Hossa, Chara, even Gaborik), then some others that should have made this team (Tatar, Panik, Hrivik) aren't superstars, so technically we would probably have only 2 lines different should this be Olympics.
