Malkin-Kucherov connection, beautiful chemistry on the PP and both guys will get assists. They should play together at ES, IMO. Malkin great passing on the powerplay to set up Russia's first goal.

How do you feel about players scoring you downright called scrubs and leftovers?

Instead, Malkin will play with a grinder and a barely above average NHL wing.

If we are going by a single scale, Grigorenko would not qualify as skilled.

I have no idea how a bottom 6 plug like him is playing on Malkin’s line with the wingers Russia has available here.

Gusev, Kucherov, and Malkin have amazing chemistry on PP1. They really need to play together at even strength. This is what Malkin can do with elite wingers. Already two assists.

That top powerplay for Russia is amazing. They've had 3 PPs, 3 goals. And no Ovechkin. I say keep him off, the Malkin-Kucherov-Gusev chemistry is amazing to see.

He had a tap-in on that first goal. Malkin did all the work.

I disagree. Russia looked discombobulated out there for large stretches at 5v5. They can’t rely on the PP alone against the better teams.
